كتاب اللباس والزينة
Rapporté par Suwaid ibn Ghafala : Omar nous fit un discours à un endroit appelé Jabiya (en Syrie) et dit : « Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ nous a interdit de porter de la soie, sauf à hauteur de deux, trois ou quatre doigts. »

حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ، وَأَبُو غَسَّانَ الْمِسْمَعِيُّ وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى وَابْنُ بَشَّارٍ - قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ أَخْبَرَنَا وَقَالَ الآخَرُونَ، حَدَّثَنَا - مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ غَفَلَةَ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ، بْنَ الْخَطَّابَ خَطَبَ بِالْجَابِيَةِ فَقَالَ نَهَى نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنْ لُبْسِ الْحَرِيرِ إِلاَّ مَوْضِعَ إِصْبَعَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلاَثٍ أَوْ أَرْبَعٍ .
Traduction anglaise
Suwaid b. Ghafala said:'Umar addressed us at a place known as Jabiya (Syria) and he said: Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) forbade us the wearing of silk but to the extent of two or three fingers or four fingers

معاذ کے والد ہشام نےقتادہ سے ، انھوں نے عامر شعبی سے روایت کی ، انھوں نے حضرت سوید بن غفلہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی کہ حضرت عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے نے جابیہ میں خطبہ دیا اور کہا : نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ریشم پہننے سے منع فرمایا ، سوائے دو یا تین یا چار انگلیوں ( کی پٹی ) کے ۔
