Hadith 4837 — Livre 33: The Book on Government

Rapporté par Ibn 'Umar رضي الله عنه : Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ m’a examiné sur le champ de bataille le jour de Uhud alors que j’avais quatorze ans, et il ne m’a pas permis de participer au combat. Il m’a examiné le jour de Khandaq, j’avais quinze ans, et il m’a autorisé à combattre. Nafi' a dit : Je suis allé voir 'Umar b. 'Abd al-'Aziz, qui était alors calife, et je lui ai rapporté cette tradition. Il a dit : « C’est donc la limite entre un mineur et un majeur. » Il a alors écrit à ses gouverneurs de verser une allocation à ceux qui avaient quinze ans, mais de traiter différemment les enfants plus jeunes

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ عَرَضَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ فِي الْقِتَالِ وَأَنَا ابْنُ أَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً فَلَمْ يُجِزْنِي وَعَرَضَنِي يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ وَأَنَا ابْنُ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً فَأَجَازَنِي . قَالَ نَافِعٌ فَقَدِمْتُ عَلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ وَهُوَ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَلِيفَةٌ فَحَدَّثْتُهُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ هَذَا لَحَدٌّ بَيْنَ الصَّغِيرِ وَالْكَبِيرِ . فَكَتَبَ إِلَى عُمَّالِهِ أَنْ يَفْرِضُوا لِمَنْ كَانَ ابْنَ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً وَمَنْ كَانَ دُونَ ذَلِكَ فَاجْعَلُوهُ فِي الْعِيَالِ .
Traduction anglaise
It has been narrated on the authority of Ibn 'Umar who said:The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) inspected me on the battlefield on the Day of Uhud, and I was fourteen years old. He did not allow me (to take part in the fight). He inspected me on the Day of Khandaq-and I was fifteen yearsold, and he permitted me (to fight), Nafi' said: I came to 'Umar b. 'Abd al-'Aziz who was then Caliph, and narrated this tradition to him. He said: Surely, this is the demarcation between a minor and a major. So he wrote to his governors that they should pay subsistence allowance to one who was fifteen years old, but should treat those of lesser age among children

عبداللہ بن نمیر نے کہا : ہمیں عبیداللہ نے نافع سے حدیث بیان کی ، انہوں نے حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کی ، کہا : اُحد کے دن رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے جنگ ( کے معاملے ) میں میرا معاینہ فرمایا ، اس وقت میری عمر چودہ سال تھی ، آپ نے مجھے ( جنگ میں شمولیت کی ) اجازت نہیں دی اور غزوہ خندق کے دن میرا معاینہ فرمایا جبکہ میں پندرہ برس کا تھا تو آپ نے مجھے اجازت دے دی ۔ نافع نے کہا : جس زمانے میں عمر بن عبدالعزیز خلیفہ تھے میں نے ان کے پاس جا کر یہ حدیث بیان کی تو انہوں نے کہا : یہ صغیر ( نابالغ ) اور کبیر ( بالغ ) کے درمیان حد ( فاصل ) ہے ، پھر انہوں نے اپنے عاملوں کو لکھ بھیجا کہ جو شخص پندرہ سال کا ہو اس کا ( پورا ) حصہ مقرر کریں اور جو اس سے کم کا ہو اس کو بچوں میں شمار کریں ۔ ( اس کے مطابق وظیفہ دیں ۔)
