كتاب الجهاد والسير
Rapporté par Abu Zubair, qui a entendu Jabir ibn Abdullah رضي الله عنه dire : J’ai combattu avec le Messager d’Allah ﷺ dans dix-neuf batailles. Jabir dit : Je n’ai pas participé à la bataille de Badr ni à celle de Uhud. Mon père m’en a empêché car j’étais trop jeune. Après qu’Abdullah (mon père) ait été tué le jour de Uhud, je n’ai plus jamais manqué une bataille avec le Messager d’Allah ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّاءُ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، يَقُولُ غَزَوْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم تِسْعَ عَشْرَةَ غَزْوَةً - قَالَ جَابِرٌ - لَمْ أَشْهَدْ بَدْرًا وَلاَ أُحُدًا مَنَعَنِي أَبِي فَلَمَّا قُتِلَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ لَمْ أَتَخَلَّفْ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي غَزْوَةٍ قَطُّ .
Traduction anglaise
It has been reported on the authority of Abu Zubair who heard Jabir b. `Abdullah say:I fought in the company of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) nineteen battles. Jabir said: I did not participate in the Battle of Badr and the Battle of Uhud. My father prevented me (from participating in these battles as my age was tender). After `Abdullah (my father) was killed on the Day of Uhud, I never lagged behind the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and joined every battle (he fought)

حضرت جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا : میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ انیس غزوات میں شرکت کی ۔ حضرت جابر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا : میں بدر اور احد میں شریک نہیں ہوا ، مجھے میرے والد نے روک دیا تھا ، جب ( میرے والد ) عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ اُحد کے دن شہید ہو گئے تو ( اس کے بعد ) میں کسی بھی غزوے میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ شرکت کرنے سے پیچھے نہیں رہا
