Hadith 4259 — Livre 27: The Book of Oaths
كتاب الأيمان
Rapporté par Ibn Umar رضي الله عنه : Il a entendu le Messager d’Allah ﷺ dire : « Celui qui doit faire un serment, qu’il ne jure que par Allah. Les Quraysh avaient l’habitude de jurer par leurs pères. » Le Prophète ﷺ a donc dit : « Ne jurez pas par vos pères. »

وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، وَيَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، وَقُتَيْبَةُ، وَابْنُ، حُجْرٍ قَالَ يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى أَخْبَرَنَا وَقَالَ الآخَرُونَ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، - وَهُوَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ - عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " مَنْ كَانَ حَالِفًا فَلاَ يَحْلِفْ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ " . وَكَانَتْ قُرَيْشٌ تَحْلِفُ بِآبَائِهَا فَقَالَ " لاَ تَحْلِفُوا بِآبَائِكُمْ " .
Traduction anglaise
Ibn 'Umar heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:He who has to take an oath, he must not take oath but by Allah. The Quraish used to take oath by their fathers. So he (the Holy Prophet) said: Do not take oath by your fathers

عبداللہ بن دینار سے روایت ہے کہ انہوں نے حضرت ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہ سے سنا ، انہوں نے کہا : رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : " جس نے قسم کھانی ہے وہ اللہ کے سوا کسی کی قسم نہ کھائے ۔ " اور قریش اپنے آباء و اجداد کی قسم کھاتے تھے تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : " اپنے آباء و اجداد کی قسم نہ کھاؤ
