كتاب الصوم
Rapporté par Abu’l-Bakhtari : Nous avons vu le croissant de lune de Ramadan alors que nous étions à Dhit-i-‘Irq. Nous avons envoyé quelqu’un demander à Ibn ‘Abbas رضي الله عنهما si le fait de voir un croissant très fin posait problème. Ibn ‘Abbas رضي الله عنهما a répondu que le Messager d’Allah ﷺ avait dit : « En vérité, Allah a retardé sa visibilité, mais si (le croissant) est caché pour vous, alors complétez le mois à trente jours. »

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، وَابْنُ، بَشَّارٍ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْبَخْتَرِيِّ، قَالَ أَهْلَلْنَا رَمَضَانَ وَنَحْنُ بِذَاتِ عِرْقٍ فَأَرْسَلْنَا رَجُلاً إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ - رضى الله عنهما - يَسْأَلُهُ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ - رضى الله عنهما - قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ أَمَدَّهُ لِرُؤْيَتِهِ فَإِنْ أُغْمِيَ عَلَيْكُمْ فَأَكْمِلُوا الْعِدَّةَ " .
Traduction anglaise
Abu'l-Bakhtari reported:We saw the new moon of Ramadan as we were at Dhit-i-'Irq. We sent a man to Ibn Abbas (Allah be pleased with both of them) to ask him (whether the sighting of a small moon had something of the nature of defect in it). Upon this Ibn 'Abbas (Allah be pleased with both of them) said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) had said: Verily Allah deferred its sight, but if (the new moon) is hidden from you, then, complete its number (thirty)
Traduction en ourdou
شعبہ ، عمرو ابن مرہ حضرت ابو البختری فرماتے ہیں کہ ہم نے ذات عرق میں رمضان کا چاندد یکھا تو ہم نے حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کی طرف ایک آدمی بھیجا تاکہ وہ چاند کے بارے میں آپ سے پوچھے تو حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے فرمایا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا اللہ تعالیٰ نے چاند دیکھنے کے لئے بڑھا دیا ہے ۔ تو اگر مطلع ابر آلود ہوتو گنتی پوری کرو ۔
