كتاب الزكاة
Rapporté par Omar b. Khattab رضي الله عنه : Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a distribué quelque chose. J’ai alors dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah, par Allah, d’autres que ceux-là méritaient plus ce que tu as donné. » Il a répondu : « En fait, ils ne m’ont laissé d’autre choix : soit ils insistaient pour que je leur donne, soit ils me considéraient comme avare. Mais je ne suis pas avare. »

حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْحَنْظَلِيُّ، قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ أَخْبَرَنَا وَقَالَ الآخَرَانِ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ، بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ قَالَ قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رضى الله عنه قَسَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَسْمًا فَقُلْتُ وَاللَّهِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَغَيْرُ هَؤُلاَءِ كَانَ أَحَقَّ بِهِ مِنْهُمْ . قَالَ " إِنَّهُمْ خَيَّرُونِي أَنْ يَسْأَلُونِي بِالْفُحْشِ أَوْ يُبَخِّلُونِي فَلَسْتُ بِبَاخِلٍ " .
Traduction anglaise
Umar b. Khattab (Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) distributed something. Upon this I said:Messenger of Allah, I swear by God, the others besides them were more deserving than these (to whom you gave charity). He said: They had in fact left no other alternative for me. but (that they should) either beg importunately from me or they would regard me as a miser, but I am not a miser
Traduction en ourdou
حضرت عمر بن خطا ب رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے کہا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے کچھ مال تقسیم کیا تو میں نے عرض کی : اے اللہ کے رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم !اللہ کی قسم !ان کے علاوہ ( جنھیں آپ نے عطا فر ما یا ) دوسرے لو گ اس کے زیادہ حقدار تھے ۔ آپ نے فر ما یا : " انھوں نے مجھے ایک چیز اختیار کرنے پر مجبور کر دیا کہ یا تو یہ مذموم طریقے ( بے جا اصرار ) سے سوال کریں یا مجھے بخیل بنا دیں تو میں بخیل بننے والا نہیں ہوں ۔
