Hadith 530 — Livre 1: The Book of Faith
كتاب الإيمان
Rapporté par Abdullah b. Mas'ud رضي الله عنه : Nous étions environ quarante hommes avec le Messager d’Allah ﷺ dans un camp lorsqu’il dit : « N’êtes-vous pas satisfaits d’être le quart des habitants du Paradis ? » Le narrateur dit : « Oui. » Le Prophète ﷺ dit : « N’êtes-vous pas satisfaits d’être le tiers des habitants du Paradis ? » Ils dirent : « Oui. » Il ajouta : « Par Celui qui détient ma vie dans Sa main, j’espère que vous serez la moitié des habitants du Paradis, car personne n’entrera au Paradis sauf un croyant, et vous n’êtes pas plus nombreux parmi les polythéistes qu’un poil blanc sur la peau d’un bœuf noir ou un poil noir sur la peau d’un bœuf rouge. »

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، - وَاللَّفْظُ لاِبْنِ الْمُثَنَّى - قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي قُبَّةٍ نَحْوًا مِنْ أَرْبَعِينَ رَجُلاً فَقَالَ " أَتَرْضَوْنَ أَنْ تَكُونُوا رُبُعَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ قَالَ قُلْنَا نَعَمْ . فَقَالَ " أَتَرْضَوْنَ أَنْ تَكُونُوا ثُلُثَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ " فَقُلْنَا نَعَمْ . فَقَالَ " وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ إِنِّي لأَرْجُو أَنْ تَكُونُوا نِصْفَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ وَذَاكَ أَنَّ الْجَنَّةَ لاَ يَدْخُلُهَا إِلاَّ نَفْسٌ مُسْلِمَةٌ وَمَا أَنْتُمْ فِي أَهْلِ الشِّرْكِ إِلاَّ كَالشَّعْرَةِ الْبَيْضَاءِ فِي جِلْدِ الثَّوْرِ الأَسْوَدِ أَوْ كَالشَّعْرَةِ السَّوْدَاءِ فِي جِلْدِ الثَّوْرِ الأَحْمَرِ " .
Traduction anglaise
Abdullah (b. Mas'ud) reported:We, about forty men, were with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) in a camp when he said: Aren't you pleased that they should constitute one-fourth of the inhabitants of Paradise? He (the narrator) said: Yes. He (the Holy Prophet) again said: Aren't you pleased that you should constitute one-third of the inhabitants of Paradise? They said: Yes. Upon this he again said: By Him in Whose Hand is my life, I hope that you would constitute one-half of the inhabitants of Paradise and the reason is that no one would be admitted into Paradise but a believer and you are no more among the polytheists than as a white hair on the skin of a black ox or a black hair on the skin of a red ox

ابو اسحاق سے ( ابو احوص کے بجائے ) شعبہ نے حدیث سنائی ، انہو ں نے عمرو بن میمون سے ا ور انہوں نے حضرت عبد اللہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کی کہ ہم تقریباً چالیس افراد ایک خیمے میں رسو ل اللہ ﷺ کے ساتھ تھے کہ آپ نے فرمایا : ’’ کیا تم اس بات پر راضی ہو گے کہ تم اہل جنت کا چوتھائی حصہ ہو؟ ‘ ‘ ہم نےکہا : ہاں ۔ تو آپ نے فرمایا : ’’کیا تم اس پر راضی ہو جاؤ گے کہ تم اہل جنت کا ایک تہائی حصہ ہو ؟ ‘ ‘ ہم نےکہا : ہاں ۔ تو آپ نے فرمایا : ’’ اس ذات کی قسم جس کےہاتھ میں میری جان ہے ! مجھے امید ہے کہ تم اہل جنت میں سے آدھے ہو گے اور اس کی وجہ یہ ہے کہ جنت میں اس انسان کے سوا کوئی داخل نہ ہو گا جس نے خود کو اللہ کے سپرد کر دیا ۔ اور مشرکوں میں تمہاری تعداد ایسی ہی ہے جیسے سیاہ بیل کی جلد پر ایک سفید بال یا سرخ بیل کی جلد پر ایک سیاہ بال ۔ ‘ ‘
