كتاب الإيمان
Rapporté par Abdullah ibn Mas’ud رضي الله عنه : Il a dit : « J’ai demandé au Messager d’Allah ﷺ quelle était la meilleure action. » Le Prophète ﷺ a répondu : « La prière à son heure. » J’ai dit : « Et ensuite ? » Il a répondu : « La bonté envers les parents. » J’ai dit : « Et ensuite ? » Il a répondu : « L’effort dans le chemin d’Allah. » Et je n’ai pas continué à poser des questions par respect pour lui

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، عَنِ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ الْعَيْزَارِ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِيَاسٍ أَبِي عَمْرٍو الشَّيْبَانِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَىُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ " الصَّلاَةُ لِوَقْتِهَا " . قَالَ قُلْتُ ثُمَّ أَىٌّ قَالَ " بِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ " . قَالَ قُلْتُ ثُمَّ أَىٌّ قَالَ " الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ " . فَمَا تَرَكْتُ أَسْتَزِيدُهُ إِلاَّ إِرْعَاءً عَلَيْهِ .
Traduction anglaise
It is narrated on the authority of 'Abdullah b. Mas'ud that he observed. I asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) which deed was the best. He (the Holy Prophet) replied:Prayer at its appointed hour. I (again) said: Then what? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: Kindness to the parents. I (again) said: Then what? He replied: Earnest endeavour (Jihad) in the cause of Allah. And I would have not ceased asking more questions but out of regard (for his feelings)

(ابو اسحاق سلیمان بن فیروز کوفی ) شیبانی نے ولید بن عیزار سے ، انہوں نے سعد بن ایاس ابو عمرو شیبانی سے اور انہوں نے حضرت عبد اللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کی کہ میں نے رسول اللہ سے پوچھا : کون سا عمل افضل ہے ؟ آپ نے فرمایا : ’’ نماز کو اس کے وقت پر پڑھنا ۔ ‘ ‘ میں پوچھا : اس کے بعد کون ؟ فرمایا : ’’ والدین کے ساتھ حسن سلوک کرنا ۔ ‘ ‘ میں نے پوچھا : پھر کون سا ؟ فرمایا : ’’ اللہ کی راہ میں جہاد کرنا ۔ ‘ ‘ میں نے مزید پوچھنا صرف اس لیے چھوڑ دیا کہ آپ پر گراں نہ گزرے ۔
