كتاب الإيمان
Rapporté par Abu Huraira : J’ai entendu le Prophète ﷺ dire : « Les gens du Yémen sont arrivés, ils sont doux de caractère et ont le cœur tendre. La foi est celle des Yéménites, la sagesse est celle des Yéménites, la tranquillité est chez les propriétaires de chèvres et de moutons, et l’orgueil ainsi que la vanité sont chez les propriétaires de chameaux, les gens des tentes du côté du lever du soleil. »

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ، عَنْ شُعَيْبٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ " جَاءَ أَهْلُ الْيَمَنِ هُمْ أَرَقُّ أَفْئِدَةً وَأَضْعَفُ قُلُوبًا الإِيمَانُ يَمَانٍ وَالْحِكْمَةُ يَمَانِيَةٌ السَّكِينَةُ فِي أَهْلِ الْغَنَمِ وَالْفَخْرُ وَالْخُيَلاَءُ فِي الْفَدَّادِينَ أَهْلِ الْوَبَرِ قِبَلَ مَطْلِعِ الشَّمْسِ " .
Traduction anglaise
Abu Huraira said:I heard the Prophet (may peace and blessings be upon him) saying: There came the people of Yemen, they are tender of feelings and meek of hearts. The belief is that of the Yemenites, the sagacity is that of the Yemenites, the tranquillity is among the owners of goats and sheep, and pride and conceitedness is among the uncivil owners of the camels, the people of the tents in the direction of sunrise

سعید بن مسیت نے حدیث بیان کی کہ حضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا : میں نے نبی اکرمﷺ کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا : ’’ اہل یمن آئے ہیں ، ان کے دل ( دوسروں سے ) زیادہ نرم ہیں اور مزاجوں میں زیادہ رقت ہے ۔ ایمان یمنی ہے اور حکمت بھی یمنی ہے ۔ سکون ، بھیڑ بکریاں پالنے والوں میں ہے اور فخر و تکبر اونی خیموں کے باسی ، چیخنے چلانے والے لوگوں میں ، جو سورج طلوع ہونے تک کی سمت میں ( رہتے ہیں ۔ ) ‘ ‘
