كتاب الإيمان
Rapporté par Abu Huraira رضي الله عنه : Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a dit à son oncle au moment de sa mort : « Dis qu’il n’y a de dieu qu’Allah et je témoignerai en ta faveur au Jour du Jugement. » Abu Talib répondit : « Si je n’avais pas peur que les Quraysh me reprochent d’avoir accepté par crainte de la mort, j’aurais fait ce qui t’aurait réjoui. » C’est alors qu’Allah révéla : « Tu ne guides pas celui que tu aimes, mais c’est Allah qui guide qui Il veut, et Il connaît mieux ceux qui sont bien guidés » (Coran 28:)

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمِ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ كَيْسَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ الأَشْجَعِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم لِعَمِّهِ " قُلْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ أَشْهَدُ لَكَ بِهَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " . قَالَ لَوْلاَ أَنْ تُعَيِّرَنِي قُرَيْشٌ يَقُولُونَ إِنَّمَا حَمَلَهُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ الْجَزَعُ لأَقْرَرْتُ بِهَا عَيْنَكَ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ { إِنَّكَ لاَ تَهْدِي مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهَ يَهْدِي مَنْ يَشَاءُ}
Traduction anglaise
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah said to his uncle (at the time of his death):Make a profession of it that there is no god but Allah and I will bear testimony (of your being a Muslim) on the Day of judgment. He (Abu Talib) said: Were it not the fear of the Quraysh blaming me (and) saying that it was the fear of (approaching death) that induced me to do so, I would have certainly delighted your eyes. It was then that Allah revealed: " Verily thou canst not guide to the right path whom thou lovest. And it is Allah Who guideth whom He will and He knoweth best who are the guided" (xxviii)
Traduction en ourdou
یحییٰ بن سعید نے کہا : ہمیں یزید بن کیسان نے حدیث سنائی.... ( اس کے بعد مذکورہ سند کے ساتھ ) حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے اپنے چچا سے فرمایا : ’’لا اله الا الله کہہ دیجیے ، میں قیامت کے دن آپ کے لیے اس کےبارے میں گواہ بن جاؤں گا ۔ ‘ ‘ انہوں نے ( جواب میں ) کہا : اگر مجھے یہ ڈر نہ ہوتا کہ قریش مجھے عار دلائیں گے ( کہیں گے کہ اسے ( موت کی ) گھبراہٹ نےاس بات پر آمادہ کیا ہے ) تو میں یہ کلمہ پڑھ کر تمہاری آنکھیں ٹھنڈی کر دیتا ۔ اس پر اللہ تعالیٰ نے یہ آیت نازل فرمائی : ’’آپ جسے چاہتے ہوں اسے براہ راست پر نہیں لاسکتے لیکن اللہ تعالیٰ جسے چاہے راہ راست پر لے آتا ہے ۔ ‘ ‘
