كتاب الإيمان
Rapporté par Abu Huraira رضي الله عنه : Lorsque le Messager d’Allah ﷺ est décédé et qu’Abu Bakr est devenu calife, certains Arabes voulurent quitter l’islam. ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab dit à Abu Bakr : « Pourquoi veux-tu combattre ces gens alors que le Messager d’Allah a dit : “J’ai reçu l’ordre de combattre les gens jusqu’à ce qu’ils disent : Il n’y a pas d’autre dieu qu’Allah, et celui qui le dit a la protection de ses biens et de sa vie de ma part, sauf pour un droit. Le reste de ses affaires dépend d’Allah.” » Abu Bakr répondit : « Par Allah, je combattrai quiconque sépare la prière de la Zakat, car la Zakat est une obligation pour les riches. Par Allah, je les combattrai même pour récupérer la corde qu’ils donnaient au Messager d’Allah comme Zakat, mais qu’ils refusent maintenant de donner. » ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab déclara : « Par Allah, j’ai compris qu’Allah avait ouvert le cœur d’Abu Bakr pour comprendre la nécessité de combattre (ceux qui refusent de payer la Zakat), et j’ai reconnu que sa position était juste. »

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ لَمَّا تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَاسْتُخْلِفَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ بَعْدَهُ وَكَفَرَ مَنْ كَفَرَ مِنَ الْعَرَبِ قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ لأَبِي بَكْرٍ كَيْفَ تُقَاتِلُ النَّاسَ وَقَدْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أُقَاتِلَ النَّاسَ حَتَّى يَقُولُوا لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ فَمَنْ قَالَ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ فَقَدْ عَصَمَ مِنِّي مَالَهُ وَنَفْسَهُ إِلاَّ بِحَقِّهِ وَحِسَابُهُ عَلَى اللَّهِ " . فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَاللَّهِ لأُقَاتِلَنَّ مَنْ فَرَّقَ بَيْنَ الصَّلاَةِ وَالزَّكَاةِ فَإِنَّ الزَّكَاةَ حَقُّ الْمَالِ وَاللَّهِ لَوْ مَنَعُونِي عِقَالاً كَانُوا يُؤَدُّونَهُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم لَقَاتَلْتُهُمْ عَلَى مَنْعِهِ . فَقَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ فَوَاللَّهِ مَا هُوَ إِلاَّ أَنْ رَأَيْتُ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَدْ شَرَحَ صَدْرَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ لِلْقِتَالِ فَعَرَفْتُ أَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ .
Traduction anglaise
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) breathed his last and Abu Bakr was appointed as his successor (Caliph), those amongst the Arabs who wanted to become apostates became apostates. 'Umar b. Khattab said to Abu Bakr:Why would you fight against the people, when the Messenger of Allah declared: I have been directed to fight against people so long as they do not say: There is no god but Allah, and he who professed it was granted full protection of his property and life on my behalf except for a right? His (other) affairs rest with Allah. Upon this Abu Bakr said: By Allah, I would definitely fight against him who severed prayer from Zakat, for it is the obligation upon the rich. By Allah, I would fight against them even to secure the cord (used for hobbling the feet of a camel) which they used to give to the Messenger of Allah (as zakat) but now they have withheld it. Umar b. Khattab remarked: By Allah, I found nothing but the fact that Allah had opened the heart of Abu Bakr for (perceiving the justification of) fighting (against those who refused to pay Zakat) and I fully recognized that the (stand of Abu Bakr) was right

جناب عبید اللہ بن عبد اللہ بن عتبہ بن مسعود نے حضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کی کہ جب رسول ا للہﷺ نے وفات پائی اور آپ کے بعد حضرت ابو بکر رضی اللہ عنہ خلیفہ بنائے گئے تو عربوں میں سے کافر ہونے والے کافر ہو گئے ( اور ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ نےمانعین زکاۃ سے جنگ کا ارادہ کیا ) تو حضرت عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ نے حضرت ابو بکر رضی اللہ عنہ سے کہا : آپ ان لوگوں سے کیسے جنگ کریں گے جبکہ رسول ا للہ ﷺ فرما چکے ہیں : ’’ مجھے حکم دیا گیا ہے کہ میں لوگوں سے لڑائی کروں یہاں تک کہ وہ لا اله الاالله کا اقرار کر لیں ، پس جو کوئی لا اله الا الله کا قائل ہو گیا ، اس نے میری طرف سے اپنی جان اور اپنا مال محفوظ کر لیا ، الا یہ کہ اس ( لا اله الا الله ) کا حق ہو ، اور اس کا حساب اللہ تعالیٰ پر ہے ؟ ‘ ‘ اس پر ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ نےجواب دیا : اللہ کی قسم ! میں ان لوگوں سے جنگ کروں گا جو نماز او رزکاۃ میں فرق کریں گے ، کیونکہ زکاۃ مال ( میں اللہ ) کا حق ہے ۔ اللہ کی قسم ! اگر یہ لوگ ( اونٹ کا ) پاؤں باندھنے کی ایک رسی بھی روکیں گے ، جو وہ رسول اللہ ﷺ کو دیا کرتے تھے تو میں اس کے روکنے پر بھی ان سے جنگ کروں گا ۔ اس پر حضرت عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا تھا : اللہ کی قسم ! اصل بات اس کےسوا اور کچھ نہیں کہ میں نے دیکھا اللہ تعالیٰ نےحضرت ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ کا سینہ جنگ کے لیے کھول دیا ، تو میں جان گیا کہ حق یہی ہے ۔
