Hadith 565 — Livre 9: Times of the Prayers

Rapporté par Muhammad bin `Amr : Nous avons demandé à Jabir bin `Abdullah comment le Prophète (ﷺ) priait. Il a dit : « Il priait le Zuhr au milieu de la journée, le `Asr quand le soleil était encore chaud, et le Maghrib après le coucher du soleil (à l’heure prévue). L’`Isha était faite tôt si les gens étaient nombreux, et retardée si le nombre était faible ; la prière du matin était faite alors qu’il faisait encore nuit. »

حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ـ هُوَ ابْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ـ قَالَ سَأَلْنَا جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ صَلاَةِ النَّبِيِّ، صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ كَانَ يُصَلِّي الظُّهْرَ بِالْهَاجِرَةِ، وَالْعَصْرَ وَالشَّمْسُ حَيَّةٌ، وَالْمَغْرِبَ إِذَا وَجَبَتْ، وَالْعِشَاءَ إِذَا كَثُرَ النَّاسُ عَجَّلَ، وَإِذَا قَلُّوا أَخَّرَ، وَالصُّبْحَ بِغَلَسٍ.
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Muhammad bin `Amr:We asked Jabir bin `Abdullah about the prayers of the Prophet (ﷺ) . He said, "He used to pray Zuhr prayer at midday, the `Asr when the sun was still hot, and the Maghrib after sunset (at its stated time). The `Isha was offered early if the people gathered, and used to be delayed if their number was less; and the morning prayer was offered when it was still dark

ہم سے مسلم بن ابراہیم نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے شعبہ حجاج نے سعد بن ابراہیم سے بیان کیا، وہ محمد بن عمرو سے جو حسن بن علی بن ابی طالب کے بیٹے ہیں، فرمایا کہ ہم نے جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما سے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی نماز کے بارے میں دریافت کیا۔ تو آپ نے فرمایا کہ آپ نماز ظہر دوپہر میں پڑھتے تھے۔ اور جب نماز عصر پڑھتے تو سورج صاف روشن ہوتا۔ مغرب کی نماز واجب ہوتے ہی ادا فرماتے، اور ”عشاء“ میں اگر لوگ جلدی جمع ہو جاتے تو جلدی پڑھ لیتے اور اگر آنے والوں کی تعداد کم ہوتی تو دیر کرتے۔ اور صبح کی نماز منہ اندھیرے میں پڑھا کرتے تھے۔
