Hadith 6680 — Livre 83: Oaths and Vows
كتاب الأيمان والنذور
Rapporté par Abu Musa Al-Ash`ari : Je suis allé avec quelques hommes des Ash-ariyin chez le Messager d'Allah (ﷺ) et il se trouvait qu'il était de mauvaise humeur. Nous lui avons demandé de nous fournir des montures, mais il a juré qu'il ne nous en donnerait pas. Plus tard, il a dit : « Par Allah, si jamais je fais un serment (de faire quelque chose) et que je trouve ensuite quelque chose de mieux, alors je fais ce qui est mieux et j'expie la rupture de mon serment. »

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ زَهْدَمٍ، قَالَ كُنَّا عِنْدَ أَبِي مُوسَى الأَشْعَرِيِّ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي نَفَرٍ مِنَ الأَشْعَرِيِّينَ، فَوَافَقْتُهُ وَهْوَ غَضْبَانُ فَاسْتَحْمَلْنَاهُ، فَحَلَفَ أَنْ لاَ يَحْمِلَنَا ثُمَّ قَالَ " وَاللَّهِ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ لاَ أَحْلِفُ عَلَى يَمِينٍ فَأَرَى غَيْرَهَا خَيْرًا مِنْهَا، إِلاَّ أَتَيْتُ الَّذِي هُوَ خَيْرٌ وَتَحَلَّلْتُهَا ".
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Abu Musa Al-Ash`ari:I went along with some men from the Ash-ariyin to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and it happened that I met him while he was in an angry mood. We asked him to provide us with mounts, but he swore that he would not give us any. Later on he said, "By Allah, Allah willing, if ever I take an oath (to do something) and later on I find something else better than the first, then I do the better one and give expiation for the dissolution of my oath

ہم سے ابومعمر نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے عبدالوارث نے، کہا ہم سے ایوب نے بیان کیا، ان سے قاسم نے، ان سے زہدم نے بیان کیا کہ ہم ابوموسیٰ رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس تھے تو انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ میں قبیلہ اشعر کے چند ساتھیوں کے ساتھ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا جب میں آپ کے پاس آیا تو آپ غصہ تھے پھر ہم نے آپ سے سواری کا جانور مانگا تو آپ نے قسم کھا لی کہ آپ ہمارے لیے اس کا انتظام نہیں کر سکتے۔ اس کے بعد فرمایا: واللہ، اللہ نے چاہا تو میں کبھی بھی اگر کوئی قسم کھا لوں گا اور اس کے سوا دوسری چیز میں بھلائی دیکھوں گا تو وہی کروں گا جس میں بھلائی ہو گی اور قسم توڑ دوں گا۔
