Rapporté par Shaqiq : Pendant que nous attendions `Abdullah (bin Mas`ud), Yazid bin Muawiya est arrivé. Je lui ai dit : « Veux-tu t’asseoir ? » Il a répondu : « Non, mais je vais entrer dans la maison (d’Ibn Mas`ud) et faire en sorte que ton compagnon (Ibn Mas`ud) vienne vers vous ; et s’il ne sort pas, je reviendrai m’asseoir avec vous. » Ensuite, `Abdullah est sorti, tenant la main de Yazid, et s’est adressé à nous en disant : « Je sais que vous êtes rassemblés ici, mais la raison pour laquelle je ne viens pas souvent vers vous, c’est que le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) nous faisait des rappels à intervalles pendant les jours, de peur que nous ne nous lassions. »

حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا الأَعْمَشُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي شَقِيقٌ، قَالَ كُنَّا نَنْتَظِرُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ إِذْ جَاءَ يَزِيدُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ فَقُلْنَا أَلاَ تَجْلِسُ قَالَ لاَ وَلَكِنْ أَدْخُلُ فَأُخْرِجُ إِلَيْكُمْ صَاحِبَكُمْ، وَإِلاَّ جِئْتُ أَنَا. فَجَلَسْتُ فَخَرَجَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ وَهْوَ آخِذٌ بِيَدِهِ فَقَامَ عَلَيْنَا فَقَالَ أَمَا إِنِّي أَخْبَرُ بِمَكَانِكُمْ، وَلَكِنَّهُ يَمْنَعُنِي مِنَ الْخُرُوجِ إِلَيْكُمْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ يَتَخَوَّلُنَا بِالْمَوْعِظَةِ فِي الأَيَّامِ، كَرَاهِيَةَ السَّآمَةِ عَلَيْنَا.
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Shaqiq:While we were waiting for `Abdullah (bin Mas`ud). Yazid bin Muawiya came. I said (to him), "Will you sit down?" He said, "No, but I will go into the house (of Ibn Mas`ud) and let your companion (Ibn Mas`ud) come out to you; and if he should not (come out), I will come out and sit (with you)." Then `Abdullah came out, holding the hand of Yazid, addressed us, saying, "I know that you are assembled here, but the reason that prevents me from coming out to you, is that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used to preach to us at intervals during the days, lest we should become bored
Traduction en ourdou
ہم سے عمر بن حفص بن غیاث نے بیان کیا، کہا مجھ سے میرے والد نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے اعمش نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ مجھ سے شقیق نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ کا انتظار کر رہے تھے کہ یزید بن معاویہ آئے۔ ہم نے کہا، تشریف رکھئے لیکن انہوں نے جواب دیا کہ نہیں، میں اندر جاؤں گا اور تمہارے ساتھ ( عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ ) کو باہر لاؤں گا۔ اگر وہ نہ آئے تو میں ہی تنہا آ جاؤں گا اور تمہارے ساتھ بیٹھوں گا۔ پھر عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ باہر تشریف لائے اور وہ یزید بن معاویہ کا ہاتھ پکڑے ہوئے تھے پھر ہمارے سامنے کھڑے ہوئے کہنے لگے میں جان گیا تھا کہ تم یہاں موجود ہو۔ پس میں جو نکلا تو اس وجہ سے کہ میں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو دیکھا آپ مقررہ دنوں میں ہم کو وعظ فرمایا کرتے تھے، ( فاصلہ دے کر ) آپ کا مطلب یہ ہوتا تھا کہ کہیں ہم اکتا نہ جائیں۔
