Rapporté par Anas : Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a dit : « Aucun de vous ne doit souhaiter la mort à cause d’un malheur qui lui est arrivé. Mais s’il ne peut s’en empêcher, alors il doit dire : “Ô Allah ! Fais-moi vivre tant que la vie est meilleure pour moi, et fais-moi mourir si la mort est meilleure pour moi.” »

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ سَلاَمٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ صُهَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " لاَ يَتَمَنَّيَنَّ أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمُ الْمَوْتَ لِضُرٍّ نَزَلَ بِهِ، فَإِنْ كَانَ لاَ بُدَّ مُتَمَنِّيًا لِلْمَوْتِ فَلْيَقُلِ اللَّهُمَّ أَحْيِنِي مَا كَانَتِ الْحَيَاةُ خَيْرًا لِي، وَتَوَفَّنِي إِذَا كَانَتِ الْوَفَاةُ خَيْرًا لِي ".
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Anas:Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said," None of you should long for death because of a calamity that had befallen him, and if he cannot, but long for death, then he should say, 'O Allah! Let me live as long as life is better for me, and take my life if death is better for me
Traduction en ourdou
ہم سے محمد بن سلام نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم کو اسماعیل بن علیہ نے خبر دی، انہوں نے کہا ہمیں عبدالعزیز بن صہیب نے بتایا اور ان سے انس رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ”تم میں سے کوئی شخص کسی تکلیف کی وجہ سے جو اسے ہونے لگی ہو، موت کی تمنا نہ کرے۔ اگر موت کی تمنا ضروری ہی ہو جائے تو یہ کہے کہ اے اللہ! جب تک میرے لیے زندگی بہتر ہے مجھے زندہ رکھیو اور جب میرے لیے موت بہتر ہو تو مجھے اٹھا لیجیو۔“
