Hadith 6050 — Livre 78: Good Manners and Form (Al-Adab)

Rapporté par Ma’rur : J’ai vu Abu Dhar porter un burd (vêtement) et son esclave aussi portait un burd. Je lui ai dit : « Si tu prends celui de ton esclave et que tu le portes avec le tien, tu auras un bel ensemble, et tu pourrais lui donner un autre vêtement. » Abu Dhar a dit : « Il y a eu une dispute entre moi et un homme dont la mère n’était pas arabe, et je l’ai insultée. L’homme s’est plaint de moi au Prophète. Le Prophète (ﷺ) a dit : “As-tu insulté untel ?” J’ai répondu : “Oui.” Il a dit : “As-tu insulté sa mère ?” J’ai répondu : “Oui.” Il a dit : “Tu as encore des traits de l’ignorance d’avant l’islam.” J’ai demandé : “Même à mon âge ?” Il a répondu : “Oui. Les esclaves ou serviteurs sont vos frères, et Allah les a placés sous votre responsabilité. Celui qui a son frère sous sa main doit le nourrir de ce qu’il mange, l’habiller de ce qu’il porte, et ne pas lui demander quelque chose au-dessus de ses capacités. Et s’il lui demande une tâche difficile, il doit l’aider.”

حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا الأَعْمَشُ، عَنِ الْمَعْرُورِ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، قَالَ رَأَيْتُ عَلَيْهِ بُرْدًا وَعَلَى غُلاَمِهِ بُرْدًا فَقُلْتُ لَوْ أَخَذْتَ هَذَا فَلَبِسْتَهُ كَانَتْ حُلَّةً، وَأَعْطَيْتَهُ ثَوْبًا آخَرَ. فَقَالَ كَانَ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ رَجُلٍ كَلاَمٌ، وَكَانَتْ أُمُّهُ أَعْجَمِيَّةً، فَنِلْتُ مِنْهَا فَذَكَرَنِي إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ لِي " أَسَابَبْتَ فُلاَنًا ". قُلْتُ نَعَمْ. قَالَ " أَفَنِلْتَ مِنْ أُمِّهِ ". قُلْتُ نَعَمْ. قَالَ " إِنَّكَ امْرُؤٌ فِيكَ جَاهِلِيَّةٌ ". قُلْتُ عَلَى حِينِ سَاعَتِي هَذِهِ مِنْ كِبَرِ السِّنِّ قَالَ " نَعَمْ، هُمْ إِخْوَانُكُمْ، جَعَلَهُمُ اللَّهُ تَحْتَ أَيْدِيكُمْ، فَمَنْ جَعَلَ اللَّهُ أَخَاهُ تَحْتَ يَدِهِ فَلْيُطْعِمْهُ مِمَّا يَأْكُلُ، وَلْيُلْبِسْهُ مِمَّا يَلْبَسُ، وَلاَ يُكَلِّفُهُ مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا يَغْلِبُهُ، فَإِنْ كَلَّفَهُ مَا يَغْلِبُهُ فَلْيُعِنْهُ عَلَيْهِ ".
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Ma'rur:I saw Abu Dhar wearing a Burd (garment) and his slave too was wearing a Burd, so I said (to Abu Dhar), "If you take this (Burda of your slave) and wear it (along with yours), you will have a nice suit (costume) and you may give him another garment." Abu Dhar said, "There was a quarrel between me and another man whose mother was a non-Arab and I called her bad names. The man mentioned (complained about) me to the Prophet. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Did you abuse so-and-so?" I said, "Yes" He said, "Did you call his mother bad names?" I said, "Yes". He said, "You still have the traits of (the Pre-Islamic period of) ignorance." I said. "(Do I still have ignorance) even now in my old age?" He said, "Yes, they (slaves or servants) are your brothers, and Allah has put them under your command. So the one under whose hand Allah has put his brother, should feed him of what he eats, and give him dresses of what he wears, and should not ask him to do a thing beyond his capacity. And if at all he asks him to do a hard task, he should help him therein

مجھ سے عمر بن حفص بن غیاث نے بیان کیا، کہا مجھ سے میرے والد نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے اعمش نے بیان کیا، ان سے معرور نے اور ان سے ابوذر رضی اللہ عنہ نے، معرور نے بیان کیا کہ میں نے ابوذر رضی اللہ عنہ کے جسم پر ایک چادر دیکھی اور ان کے غلام کے جسم پر بھی ایک ویسی ہی چادر تھی، میں نے عرض کیا: اگر اپنے غلام کی چادر لے لیں اور اسے بھی پہن لیں تو ایک رنگ کا جوڑا ہو جائے غلام کو دوسرا کپڑا دے دیں۔ ابوذر رضی اللہ عنہ نے اس پر کہا کہ مجھ میں اور ایک صاحب ( بلال رضی اللہ عنہ ) میں تکرار ہو گئی تھی تو ان کی ماں عجمی تھیں، میں نے اس بارے میں ان کو طعنہ دے دیا انہوں نے جا کر یہ بات نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے کہہ دی۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھ سے دریافت فرمایا کیا تم نے اس سے جھگڑا کیا ہے؟ میں نے عرض کیا جی ہاں۔ دریافت کیا تم نے اسے اس کی ماں کی وجہ سے طعنہ دیا ہے؟ میں نے عرض کیا جی ہاں۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ تمہارے اندر ابھی جاہلیت کی بو باقی ہے۔ میں نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! اس بڑھاپے میں بھی؟ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ ہاں یاد رکھو یہ ( غلام بھی ) تمہارے بھائی ہیں، اللہ تعالیٰ نے انہیں تمہاری ماتحتی میں دیا ہے، پس اللہ تعالیٰ جس کی ماتحتی میں بھی اس کے بھائی کو رکھے اسے چاہئے کہ جو وہ کھائے اسے بھی کھلائے اور جو وہ پہنے اسے بھی پہنائے اور اسے ایسا کام کرنے کے لیے نہ کہے، جو اس کے بس میں نہ ہو اگر اسے کوئی ایسا کام کرنے کے لیے کہنا ہی پڑے تو اس کام میں اس کی مدد کرے۔
