كتاب الطلاق
Rapporté par Ibn `Umar : Le Prophète a montré ses dix doigts trois fois et a dit : « Le mois est ainsi, ainsi et ainsi », c’est-à-dire trente jours. Puis, en montrant ses dix doigts deux fois puis neuf doigts, il a dit : « Il peut être ainsi, ainsi et ainsi », c’est-à-dire vingt-neuf jours. Il voulait dire : parfois trente jours, parfois vingt-neuf jours

حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا جَبَلَةُ بْنُ سُحَيْمٍ، سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ، يَقُولُ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم " الشَّهْرُ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا ". يَعْنِي ثَلاَثِينَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ " وَهَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا ". يَعْنِي تِسْعًا وَعِشْرِينَ يَقُولُ، مَرَّةً ثَلاَثِينَ وَمَرَّةً تِسْعًا وَعِشْرِينَ.
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Ibn `Umar:The Prophet (holding out his ten fingers thrice), said, "The month is thus and thus and thus," namely thirty days. Then (holding out his ten fingers twice and then nine fingers), he said, "It may be thus and thus and thus," namely twenty nine days. He meant once thirty days and once twenty nine days

ہم سے آدم نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے شعبہ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے جبلہ بن سحیم نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے سنا، انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ مہینہ اتنے، اتنے اور اتنے دنوں کا ہوتا ہے۔ آپ کی مراد تیس دن سے تھی۔ پھر فرمایا اور اتنے، اتنے اور اتنے دنوں کا بھی ہوتا ہے۔ آپ کا اشارہ انتیس دنوں کی طرف تھا۔ ایک مرتبہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے تیس کی طرف اشارہ کیا اور دوسری مرتبہ انتیس کی طرف۔
