Rapporté par Anas ibn Malik : J'avais dix ans quand le Messager d'Allah (ﷺ) est arrivé à Médine. Ma mère et mes tantes m'encourageaient à servir régulièrement le Prophète (ﷺ), et je l'ai servi pendant dix ans. Quand le Prophète (ﷺ) est décédé, j'avais vingt ans, et je connaissais mieux que quiconque le sujet du voile (Al-Hijab) au moment où il a été révélé. Il a été révélé pour la première fois lorsque le Messager d'Allah (ﷺ) a consommé son mariage avec Zainab bint Jahsh. Au lever du jour, le Prophète (ﷺ) était un jeune marié et il a invité les gens à un repas. Ils sont venus, ont mangé, puis tous sont partis sauf quelques-uns qui sont restés longtemps avec le Prophète (ﷺ). Le Prophète (ﷺ) s’est levé et est sorti, et je l’ai suivi pour que ces gens partent aussi. Le Prophète (ﷺ) est allé jusqu’à la porte de la maison de `Aisha. Pensant que les gens étaient partis, il est revenu, et moi aussi. Quand il est entré chez Zainab, ils étaient toujours là. Le Prophète (ﷺ) est donc ressorti, et je l’ai suivi. Arrivés à la porte de la maison de `Aisha, il a pensé qu’ils étaient partis, alors il est revenu, et moi aussi, et nous avons constaté qu’ils étaient partis. Le Prophète (ﷺ) a alors tiré un rideau entre lui et moi, et les versets sur le voile ont été révélés

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ أَنَّهُ كَانَ ابْنَ عَشْرِ سِنِينَ مَقْدَمَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم الْمَدِينَةَ، فَكَانَ أُمَّهَاتِي يُوَاظِبْنَنِي عَلَى خِدْمَةِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَخَدَمْتُهُ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ، وَتُوُفِّيَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَأَنَا ابْنُ عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً، فَكُنْتُ أَعْلَمَ النَّاسِ بِشَأْنِ الْحِجَابِ حِينَ أُنْزِلَ، وَكَانَ أَوَّلَ مَا أُنْزِلَ فِي مُبْتَنَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِزَيْنَبَ ابْنَةِ جَحْشٍ، أَصْبَحَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِهَا عَرُوسًا، فَدَعَا الْقَوْمَ فَأَصَابُوا مِنَ الطَّعَامِ، ثُمَّ خَرَجُوا وَبَقِيَ رَهْطٌ مِنْهُمْ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَأَطَالُوا الْمُكْثَ، فَقَامَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَخَرَجَ وَخَرَجْتُ مَعَهُ لِكَىْ يَخْرُجُوا، فَمَشَى النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَمَشَيْتُ، حَتَّى جَاءَ عَتَبَةَ حُجْرَةِ عَائِشَةَ، ثُمَّ ظَنَّ أَنَّهُمْ خَرَجُوا فَرَجَعَ وَرَجَعْتُ مَعَهُ، حَتَّى إِذَا دَخَلَ عَلَى زَيْنَبَ فَإِذَا هُمْ جُلُوسٌ لَمْ يَقُومُوا، فَرَجَعَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَرَجَعْتُ مَعَهُ، حَتَّى إِذَا بَلَغَ عَتَبَةَ حُجْرَةِ عَائِشَةَ، وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُمْ خَرَجُوا، فَرَجَعَ وَرَجَعْتُ مَعَهُ فَإِذَا هُمْ قَدْ خَرَجُوا فَضَرَبَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهُ بِالسِّتْرِ، وَأُنْزِلَ الْحِجَابُ.
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Anas bin Malik:I was ten years old when Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) arrived at Medina. My mother and aunts used to urge me to serve the Prophet (ﷺ) regularly, and I served him for ten years. When the Prophet (ﷺ) died I was twenty years old, and I knew about the order of Al-Hijab (veiling of ladies) more than any other person when it was revealed. It was revealed for the first time when Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) had consummated his marriage with Zainab bint Jahsh. When the day dawned, the Prophet (ﷺ) was a bridegroom and he invited the people to a banquet, so they came, ate, and then all left except a few who remained with the Prophet (ﷺ) for a long time. The Prophet (ﷺ) got up and went out, and I too went out with him so that those people might leave too. The Prophet (ﷺ) proceeded and so did I, till he came to the threshold of `Aisha's dwelling place. Then thinking that these people have left by then, he returned and so did I along with him till he entered upon Zainab and behold, they were still sitting and had not gone. So the Prophet (ﷺ) again went away and I went away along with him. When we reached the threshold of `Aisha's dwelling place, he thought that they had left, and so he returned and I too, returned along with him and found those people had left. Then the Prophet (ﷺ) drew a curtain between me and him, and the Verses of Al-Hijab were revealed

ہم سے یحییٰ بن بکیر نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ مجھ سے لیث بن سعد نے بیان کیا، ان سے عقیل نے، ان سے ابن شہاب نے بیان کیا اور انہیں انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ نے خبر دی کہ جب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم مدینہ منورہ ہجرت کر کے آئے تو ان کی عمر دس برس کی تھی۔ میری ماں اور بہنیں نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت کے لیے مجھ کو تاکید کرتی رہتی تھیں۔ چنانچہ میں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی دس برس تک خدمت کی اور جب آپ کی وفات ہوئی تو میں بیس برس کا تھا۔ پردہ کے متعلق میں سب سے زیادہ جاننے والوں میں سے ہوں کہ کب نازل ہوا۔ سب سے پہلے یہ حکم اس وقت نازل ہوا تھا جب نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم زینب بنت جحش رضی اللہ عنہما سے نکاح کے بعد انہیں اپنے گھر لائے تھے، آپ ان کے دولہا بنے تھے۔ پھر آپ نے لوگوں کو ( دعوت ولیمہ پر ) بلایا۔ لوگوں نے کھانا کھایا اور چلے گئے۔ لیکن کچھ لوگ ان میں سے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے گھر میں ( کھانے کے بعد بھی ) دیر تک وہیں بیٹھے ( باتیں کرتے رہے ) آخر نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کھڑے ہوئے اور باہر تشریف لے گئے۔ میں بھی نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ باہر گیا تاکہ یہ لوگ بھی چلے جائیں۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم چلتے رہے اور میں بھی آپ کے ساتھ رہا۔ جب آپ عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کے حجرہ کے پاس دروازے پر آئے تو آپ کو معلوم ہوا کہ وہ لوگ چلے گئے ہیں۔ اس لیے آپ واپس تشریف لائے اور میں بھی آپ کے ساتھ آیا۔ جب آپ زینب رضی اللہ عنہا کے گھر میں داخل ہوئے تو دیکھا کہ وہ لوگ ابھی بیٹھے ہوئے ہیں اور ابھی تک نہیں گئے ہیں۔ چنانچہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم وہاں سے پھر واپس تشریف لائے اور میں بھی آپ کے ساتھ واپس آ گیا جب آپ عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کے حجرہ کے دروازے پر پہنچے اور آپ کو معلوم ہوا کہ وہ لوگ چلے گئے ہیں تو آپ پھر واپس تشریف لائے اور میں بھی آپ کے ساتھ واپس آیا۔ اب وہ لوگ واقعی جا چکے تھے۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس کے بعد اپنے اور میرے بیچ میں پردہ ڈال دیا اور پردہ کی آیت نازل ہوئی۔
