Rapporté par Sa`id bin Jubair : J’ai demandé à Ibn `Abbas au sujet de la sourate At-Tawba, et il a dit : « La sourate At-Tawba ? C’est une dénonciation (de tous les maux des mécréants et des hypocrites). Et elle continuait à révéler (cette expression répétée) : ‘…et parmi eux… et parmi eux…’ jusqu’à ce qu’ils commencent à penser que personne ne serait oublié dans cette sourate. » J’ai dit : « Et la sourate Al-Anfal ? » Il a répondu : « La sourate Al-Anfal a été révélée à propos de la bataille de Badr. » J’ai dit : « Et la sourate Al-Hashr ? » Il a répondu : « Elle a été révélée à propos des Bani an-Nadir. »

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بِشْرٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، قَالَ قُلْتُ لاِبْنِ عَبَّاسٍ سُورَةُ التَّوْبَةِ قَالَ التَّوْبَةُ هِيَ الْفَاضِحَةُ، مَا زَالَتْ تَنْزِلُ وَمِنْهُمْ وَمِنْهُمْ، حَتَّى ظَنُّوا أَنَّهَا لَمْ تُبْقِ أَحَدًا مِنْهُمْ إِلاَّ ذُكِرَ فِيهَا. قَالَ قُلْتُ سُورَةُ الأَنْفَالِ. قَالَ نَزَلَتْ فِي بَدْرٍ. قَالَ قُلْتُ سُورَةُ الْحَشْرِ. قَالَ نَزَلَتْ فِي بَنِي النَّضِيرِ.
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Sa`id bin Jubair:I asked Ibn `Abbas about Surat Al-Tauba, and he said, "Surat Al-Tauba? It is exposure (of all the evils of the infidels and the hypocrites). And it continued revealing (that the oft-repeated expression): '...and of them ...and of them.' till they started thinking that none would be left unmentioned therein." I said, "What about) Surat Al-Anfal?" He replied, "Surat Al-Anfal was revealed in connection with the Badr Battle." I said, "(What about) Surat Al-Hashr?" He replied, "It was revealed in connection with Bani an-Nadir

ہم سے محمد بن عبدالرحیم نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے سعید بن سلیمان نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ہشیم نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم کو ابوبشر جعفر نے خبر دی، ان سے سعید بن جبیر نے بیان کیا کہ میں نے عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے سورۃ التوبہ کے متعلق پوچھا تو انہوں نے کہا یہ سورۃ التوبہ کی ہے یا فضیحت کرنے والی ہے اس سورت میں برابر یہی اترتا رہا بعض لوگ ایسے ہیں اور بعض لوگ ایسے ہیں یہاں تک کہ لوگوں کو گمان ہوا یہ سورت کسی کا کچھ بھی نہیں چھوڑے گی بلکہ سب کے بھید کھول دے گی۔ بیان کیا کہ میں نے سورۃ الانفال کے متعلق پوچھا تو فرمایا کہ یہ جنگ بدر کے بارے میں نازل ہوئی تھی۔ بیان کیا کہ میں نے سورۃ الحشر کے متعلق پوچھا تو فرمایا کہ قبیلہ بنو نضیر کے یہود کے بارے میں نازل ہوئی تھی۔
