Rapporté par ‘Omar : J’ai dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ! Des gens bons et mauvais entrent chez toi, alors je suggère que tu ordonnes aux mères des croyants (tes épouses) de porter le voile. » Alors Allah a révélé les versets du Hijab

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، عَنْ يَحْيَى، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ قَالَ عُمَرُ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، يَدْخُلُ عَلَيْكَ الْبَرُّ وَالْفَاجِرُ، فَلَوْ أَمَرْتَ أُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ بِالْحِجَابِ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ آيَةَ الْحِجَابِ.
Traduction anglaise
Narrated `Umar:I said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Good and bad persons enter upon you, so I suggest that you order the mothers of the Believers (i.e. your wives) to observe veils." Then Allah revealed the Verses of Al- Hijab

ہم سے مسدد نے بیان کیا، ان سے یحییٰ بن سعید قطان نے، ان سے حمید طویل نے اور ان سے انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ میں نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! آپ کے پاس اچھے برے ہر طرح کے لوگ آتے ہیں، کاش آپ ازواج مطہرات کو پردہ کا حکم دے دیں۔ اس کے بعد اللہ نے پردہ کا حکم اتارا۔
