Rapporté par Abu `Uthman : Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a envoyé `Amr bin Al-As comme commandant des troupes de Dhat-us-Salasil. `Amr bin Al-As a dit : « (À mon retour) je suis allé voir le Prophète (ﷺ) et j’ai dit : ‘Quel est le peuple que tu aimes le plus ?’ Il a répondu : ‘Aïcha.’ J’ai dit : ‘Et parmi les hommes ?’ Il a répondu : ‘Son père (Abu Bakr).’ J’ai dit : ‘Et ensuite ?’ Il a répondu : ‘`Umar.’ Puis il a cité beaucoup d’autres noms, et je me suis tu de peur qu’il ne me considère comme le dernier. »

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ، أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بَعَثَ عَمْرَو بْنَ الْعَاصِ عَلَى جَيْشِ ذَاتِ السَّلاَسِلِ قَالَ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ أَىُّ النَّاسِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ قَالَ " عَائِشَةُ ". قُلْتُ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ قَالَ " أَبُوهَا ". قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَنْ قَالَ " عُمَرُ ". فَعَدَّ رِجَالاً فَسَكَتُّ مَخَافَةَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي فِي آخِرِهِمْ.
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Abu `Uthman:Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) sent `Amr bin Al As as the commander of the troops of Dhat-us-Salasil. `Amr bin Al- `As said, "(On my return) I came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, 'Which people do you love most?' He replied, `Aisha.' I said, 'From amongst the men?' He replied, 'Her father (Abu Bakr)'. I said, 'Whom (do you love) next?' He replied, "`Umar.' Then he counted the names of many men, and I became silent for fear that he might regard me as the last of them

ہم سے اسحاق بن شاہین نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم کو خالد بن عبداللہ نے خبر دی، انہیں خالد حذاء نے، انہیں ابوعثمان نہدی رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے عمرو بن العاص رضی اللہ عنہ کو غزوہ ذات السلاسل کے لیے امیر لشکر بنا کر بھیجا۔ عمرو بن العاص رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ ( غزوہ سے واپس آ کر ) میں نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا اور آپ سے پوچھا کہ آپ کو سب سے زیادہ عزیز کون شخص ہے؟ فرمایا کہ عائشہ، میں نے پوچھا اور مردوں میں؟ فرمایا کہ اس کے والد، میں نے پوچھا، اس کے بعد کون؟ فرمایا کہ عمر۔ اس طرح آپ نے کئی آدمیوں کے نام لیے بس میں خاموش ہو گیا کہ کہیں آپ مجھے سب سے بعد میں نہ کر دیں۔
