Rapporté par An-Nu`man ibn Bashir : `Abdullah ibn Rawaha est tombé inconscient et sa sœur `Amra s'est mise à pleurer et à crier : « Ô Jabala ! Ô untel ! Ô untel ! » et elle a continué à l'appeler en énumérant ses qualités, une par une. Quand il a repris connaissance, il a dit à sa sœur : « Chaque fois que tu disais quelque chose, on me demandait : “Es-tu vraiment comme elle le dit ?” »

حَدَّثَنِي عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ أُغْمِيَ عَلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ رَوَاحَةَ، فَجَعَلَتْ أُخْتُهُ عَمْرَةُ تَبْكِي وَاجَبَلاَهْ وَاكَذَا وَاكَذَا. تُعَدِّدُ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ حِينَ أَفَاقَ مَا قُلْتِ شَيْئًا إِلاَّ قِيلَ لِي آنْتَ كَذَلِكَ.
Traduction anglaise
Narrated An-Nu`man bin Bashir:`Abdullah bin Rawaha fell down unconscious and his sister `Amra started crying and was saying loudly, "O Jabala! Oh so-and-so! Oh so-and-so! and went on calling him by his (good ) qualities one by one). When he came to his senses, he said (to his sister), "When-ever you said something, I was asked, 'Are you really so (i.e. as she says)?

مجھ سے عمران بن میسرہ نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا ہم سے محمد بن فضیل نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے حصین بن عبدالرحمٰن نے ‘ ان سے عامر شعبی نے اور ان سے نعمان بن بشیر نے کہ عبداللہ بن رواحہ رضی اللہ عنہ پر ( ایک مرتبہ کسی مرض میں ) بے ہوشی طاری ہوئی تو ان کی بہن عمرہ والدہ نعمان بن بشیر یہ سمجھ کر کہ کوئی حادثہ آ گیا ‘ عبداللہ بن رواحہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے لیے پکار کر رونے لگیں۔ ہائے میرے بھائی ہائے ‘ میرے ایسے اور ویسے۔ ان کے محاسن اس طرح ایک ایک کر کے گنانے لگیں لیکن جب عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ کو ہوش آیا تو انہوں نے کہا کہ تم جب میری کسی خوبی کا بیان کرتی تھیں تو مجھ سے پوچھا جاتا تھا کہ کیا تم واقعی ایسے ہی تھے۔
