Rapporté par Jabir bin `Abdullah : `Umar bin Al-Khattab est venu le jour d’Al-Khandaq après le coucher du soleil et il insultait les mécréants de Quraish en disant : « Ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ! Je n’ai pas pu faire la prière (‘Asr) jusqu’à ce que le soleil soit presque couché. » Le Prophète (ﷺ) a dit : « Par Allah, je n’ai pas non plus accompli cette prière (‘Asr). » Alors nous sommes descendus avec le Prophète (ﷺ) à Buthan où il a fait ses ablutions pour la prière, et nous avons fait de même. Ensuite, il a accompli la prière d’‘Asr après le coucher du soleil, puis il a fait la prière du Maghrib

حَدَّثَنَا الْمَكِّيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ يَحْيَى، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ جَاءَ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ بَعْدَ مَا غَرَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ جَعَلَ يَسُبُّ كُفَّارَ قُرَيْشٍ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا كِدْتُ أَنْ أُصَلِّيَ حَتَّى كَادَتِ الشَّمْسُ أَنْ تَغْرُبَ. قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم " وَاللَّهِ مَا صَلَّيْتُهَا " فَنَزَلْنَا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بُطْحَانَ، فَتَوَضَّأَ لِلصَّلاَةِ وَتَوَضَّأْنَا لَهَا، فَصَلَّى الْعَصْرَ بَعْدَ مَا غَرَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى بَعْدَهَا الْمَغْرِبَ.
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah:`Umar bin Al-Khattab came on the day of Al-Khandaq after the sun had set and he was abusing the infidels of Quraish saying, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! I was unable to offer the (`Asr) prayer till the sun was about to set." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "By Allah, I have not offered this (i.e. `Asr) prayer." So we came down along with the Prophet (ﷺ) to Buthan where he performed ablution for the prayer and then we performed the ablution for it. Then he offered the `Asr prayer after the sun had set, and after it he offered the Maghrib prayer

ہم سے مکی بن ابراہیم نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا ہم سے ہشام بن حسان نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے یحییٰ بن ابی کثیر نے ‘ ان سے ابوسلمہ بن عبدالرحمٰن نے اور ان سے جابر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ غزوہ خندق کے موقع پر سورج غروب ہونے کے بعد ( لڑ کر ) واپس ہوئے۔ وہ کفار قریش کو برا بھلا کہہ رہے تھے۔ انہوں نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! سورج غروب ہونے کو ہے اور میں عصر کی نماز اب تک نہیں پڑھ سکا۔ اس پر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ اللہ کی قسم! نماز تو میں بھی نہ پڑھ سکا۔ آخر ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ وادی بطحان میں اترے۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے نماز کے لیے وضو کیا۔ ہم نے بھی وضو کیا ‘ پھر عصر کی نماز سورج غروب ہونے کے بعد پڑھی اور اس کے بعد مغرب کی نماز پڑھی۔
