Rapporté par Jabir : Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) m’a dit : « T’es-tu marié, ô Jabir ? » J’ai répondu : « Oui. » Il a demandé : « Avec une vierge ou une femme déjà mariée ? » J’ai répondu : « Pas une vierge, mais une femme déjà mariée. » Il a dit : « Pourquoi n’as-tu pas épousé une jeune fille qui aurait joué avec toi ? » J’ai répondu : « Ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ! Mon père a été tué le jour d’Uhud et il a laissé neuf filles orphelines qui sont mes sœurs ; je n’ai donc pas voulu épouser une jeune fille de leur âge, mais une femme plus âgée qui pourrait s’occuper d’elles et leur coiffer les cheveux. » Le Prophète (ﷺ) a dit : « Tu as bien fait. »

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرٌو، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " هَلْ نَكَحْتَ يَا جَابِرُ ". قُلْتُ نَعَمْ. قَالَ " مَاذَا أَبِكْرًا أَمْ ثَيِّبًا ". قُلْتُ لاَ بَلْ ثَيِّبًا. قَالَ " فَهَلاَّ جَارِيَةً تُلاَعِبُكَ ". قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّ أَبِي قُتِلَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ وَتَرَكَ تِسْعَ بَنَاتٍ كُنَّ لِي تِسْعَ أَخَوَاتٍ، فَكَرِهْتُ أَنْ أَجْمَعَ إِلَيْهِنَّ جَارِيَةً خَرْقَاءَ مِثْلَهُنَّ، وَلَكِنِ امْرَأَةً تَمْشُطُهُنَّ وَتَقُومُ عَلَيْهِنَّ. قَالَ " أَصَبْتَ ".
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Jabir:"Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said to me, "Have you got married O Jabir?" I replied, "Yes." He asked "What, a virgin or a matron?" I replied, "Not a virgin but a matron." He said, "Why did you not marry a young girl who would have fondled with you?" I replied, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! My father was martyred on the day of Uhud and left nine (orphan) daughters who are my nine sisters; so I disliked to have another young girl of their age, but (I sought) an (elderly) woman who could comb their hair and look after them." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "You have done the right thing
Traduction en ourdou
ہم سے قتیبہ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے سفیان بن عیینہ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم کو عمرو بن دینار نے خبر دی اور ان سے جابر بن عبداللہ انصاری رضی اللہ عنہما نے بیان کیا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھ سے دریافت فرمایا ”جابر! کیا نکاح کر لیا؟“ میں نے عرض کیا، جی ہاں۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ”کنواری سے یا بیوہ سے؟“ میں نے عرض کیا کہ بیوہ سے۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ”کسی کنواری لڑکی سے کیوں نہ کیا؟ جو تمہارے ساتھ کھیلا کرتی۔“ میں نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! میرے والد احد کی لڑائی میں شہید ہو گئے۔ نو لڑکیاں چھوڑیں۔ پس میری نو بہنیں موجود ہیں۔ اسی لیے میں نے مناسب نہیں خیال کیا کہ انہیں جیسی نا تجربہ کار لڑکی ان کے پاس لا کر بٹھا دوں، بلکہ ایک ایسی عورت لاؤں جو ان کی دیکھ بھال کر سکے اور ان کی صفائی و ستھرائی کا خیال رکھے۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ تم نے اچھا کیا۔
