Rapporté par Masruq : On a parlé de `Abdullah (bin Mas`ud) devant `Abdullah bin `Amr. Ce dernier a dit : « C’est un homme que j’aime toujours parce que j’ai entendu le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) dire : Apprenez la récitation du Coran auprès de l’un de ces quatre : `Abdullah bin Mas`ud, Salim l’affranchi d’Abu Hudhaifa, Ubai bin Ka`b et Mu`adh bin Jabal. » Je ne me souviens plus s’il a cité Ubai ou Mu`adh en premier

حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، قَالَ ذُكِرَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ عِنْدَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، فَقَالَ ذَاكَ رَجُلٌ لاَ أَزَالُ أُحِبُّهُ بَعْدَ مَا سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ " اسْتَقْرِئُوا الْقُرْآنَ مِنْ أَرْبَعَةٍ مِنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، فَبَدَأَ بِهِ، وَسَالِمٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ، وَأُبَىِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ، وَمُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ ". قَالَ لاَ أَدْرِي بَدَأَ بِأُبَىٍّ أَوْ بِمُعَاذٍ.
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Masruq:`Abdullah (bin Mas`ud) was mentioned before `Abdullah bin `Amr. The latter said, "That is a man I continue to love because I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying, ' Learn the recitation of the Qur'an from (any of these) four persons: `Abdullah bin Masud, Salim the freed slave of Abu Hudhaifa, Ubai bin Ka`b, and Mu`adh bin Jabal." I do not remember whether he mentioned Ubai first or Mu`adh

ہم سے سلیمان بن حرب نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے شعبہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے عمرو بن مرہ نے، ان سے ابراہیم نے اور ان سے مسروق نے کہ عبداللہ بن عمرو رضی اللہ عنہما کے یہاں عبداللہ بن مسعود کا ذکر ہوا تو انہوں نے کہا میں ان سے ہمیشہ محبت رکھوں گا کیونکہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو یہ فرماتے سنا ہے کہ چار اشخاص سے قرآن سیکھو۔ عبداللہ بن مسعود، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ابتداء عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ سے ہی کی اور ابوحذیفہ کے مولیٰ سالم، ابی بن کعب اور معاذ بن جبل سے، انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ مجھے پوری طرح یاد نہیں کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے پہلے ابی بن کعب کا ذکر کیا یا معاذ بن جبل رضی اللہ عنہ کا۔
