Rapporté par Hudhaifa : Le Prophète (ﷺ) a dit aux gens de Najran : « Je vais vous envoyer l’homme le plus digne de confiance. » (Chacun des compagnons du Prophète (ﷺ) espérait être cette personne.) Il a ensuite envoyé Abu 'Ubaida

حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ صِلَةَ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم لأَهْلِ نَجْرَانَ " لأَبْعَثَنَّ ـ يَعْنِي عَلَيْكُمْ ـ يَعْنِي أَمِينًا ـ حَقَّ أَمِينٍ ". فَأَشْرَفَ أَصْحَابُهُ، فَبَعَثَ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ رضى الله عنه.
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Hudhaifa:The Prophet (ﷺ) said to the people of Najran, "I will send you the most trustworthy man." (Every one of) the companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) was looking forward (to be that person). He then sent Abu 'Ubaida

ہم سے مسلم بن ابراہیم نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے شعبہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابواسحٰق نے، ان سے صلہ نے اور ان سے حذیفہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اہل نجران سے فرمایا کہ میں تمہارے یہاں ایک امین کو بھیجوں گا جو حقیقی معنوں میں امین ہو گا۔ یہ سن کر تمام صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہم کو شوق ہوا لیکن آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ابوعبیدہ رضی اللہ عنہ کو بھیجا۔
