كتاب فضائل أصحاب النبي ﷺ
Rapporté par Anas : Chaque fois qu’il y avait une sécheresse, ‘Umar ibn Al-Khattab demandait à Allah la pluie par l’intermédiaire d’Al-‘Abbas ibn ‘Abdul Muttalib, en disant : « Ô Allah ! Nous demandions à notre Prophète de Te demander la pluie, et Tu nous donnais. Maintenant, nous demandons à l’oncle de notre Prophète de Te demander la pluie, alors accorde-nous la pluie. » Et ils étaient exaucés

حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الأَنْصَارِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، عَنْ ثُمَامَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ـ رضى الله عنه أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ، كَانَ إِذَا قَحَطُوا اسْتَسْقَى بِالْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ، فَقَالَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا كُنَّا نَتَوَسَّلُ إِلَيْكَ بِنَبِيِّنَا صلى الله عليه وسلم فَتَسْقِينَا، وَإِنَّا نَتَوَسَّلُ إِلَيْكَ بِعَمِّ نَبِيِّنَا فَاسْقِنَا. قَالَ فَيُسْقَوْنَ.
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Anas:Whenever there was drought, `Umar bin Al-Khattab used to ask Allah for rain through Al-`Abbas bin `Abdul Muttalib, saying, "O Allah! We used to request our Prophet to ask You for rain, and You would give us. Now we request the uncle of our Prophet to ask You for rain, so give us rain." And they would be given rain

ہم سے حسن بن محمد نے بیان کیا، ان سے محمد بن عبداللہ انصاری نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابوعبداللہ بن مثنیٰ نے بیان کیا، ان سے ثمامہ بن عبداللہ بن انس نے اور ان سے انس رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ قحط کے زمانے میں عباس بن عبدالمطلب رضی اللہ عنہ کو آگے بڑھا کر بارش کی دعا کراتے اور کہتے کہ اے اللہ پہلے ہم اپنے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے بارش کی دعا کراتے تھے تو ہمیں سیرابی عطا کرتا تھا اور اب ہم اپنے نبی کے چچا کے ذریعہ بارش کی دعا کرتے ہیں۔ اس لیے ہمیں سیرابی عطا فرما۔ راوی نے بیان کیا کہ اس کے بعد خوب بارش ہوئی۔
