Hadith 3060 — Livre 56: Fighting for the Cause of Allah (Jihaad)
كتاب الجهاد والسير
Rapporté par Hudhaifa : Le Prophète (ﷺ) nous a dit : « Énumérez les noms de ceux qui ont déclaré être musulmans. » Nous avons donc compté mille cinq cents hommes. Puis nous nous sommes demandé : « Devons-nous avoir peur (des mécréants) alors que nous sommes mille cinq cents ? » Pourtant, nous avons vécu des épreuves si difficiles que certains priaient seuls, par crainte. Al-A`mash a rapporté : « Nous avons compté les musulmans et ils étaient cinq cents. » Et Abu Muawiya a dit : « Entre six cents et sept cents. »

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم " اكْتُبُوا لِي مَنْ تَلَفَّظَ بِالإِسْلاَمِ مِنَ النَّاسِ ". فَكَتَبْنَا لَهُ أَلْفًا وَخَمْسَمِائَةِ رَجُلٍ، فَقُلْنَا نَخَافُ وَنَحْنُ أَلْفٌ وَخَمْسُمِائَةٍ فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنَا ابْتُلِينَا حَتَّى إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيُصَلِّي وَحْدَهُ وَهْوَ خَائِفٌ. حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، فَوَجَدْنَاهُمْ خَمْسَمِائَةٍ. قَالَ أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ مَا بَيْنَ سِتِّمِائَةٍ إِلَى سَبْعِمِائَةٍ.
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Hudhaifa:The Prophet (ﷺ) said (to us), " List the names of those people who have announced that they are Muslims." So, we listed one thousand and five hundred men. Then we wondered, "Should we be afraid (of infidels) although we are one thousand and five hundred in number?" No doubt, we witnessed ourselves being afflicted with such bad trials that one would have to offer the prayer alone in fear. Narrated Al-A`mash: "We (listed the Muslims and) found them five hundred." And Abu Muawiya said, "Between six hundred to seven hundred

ہم سے محمد بن یوسف نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا ہم سے سفیان نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے اعمش نے ‘ ان سے ابووائل نے اور ان سے حذیفہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ”جو لوگ اسلام کا کلمہ پڑھ چکے ہیں ان کے نام لکھ کر میرے پاس لاؤ۔“ چنانچہ ہم نے ڈیڑھ ہزار مردوں کے نام لکھ کر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں پیش کئے اور ہم نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے عرض کیا ہماری تعداد ڈیڑھ ہزار ہو گئی ہے۔ اب ہم کو کیا ڈر ہے۔ لیکن تم دیکھ رہے ہو کہ ( آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے بعد ) ہم فتنوں میں اس طرح گھر گئے کہ اب مسلمان تنہا نماز پڑھتے ہوئے بھی ڈرنے لگا ہے۔ ہم سے عبدان نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے ابوحمزہ نے اور ان سے اعمش نے ( مذکورہ بالا سند کے ساتھ ) کہ ہم نے پانچ سو مسلمانوں کی تعداد لکھی ( ہزار کا ذکر اس روایت میں نہیں ہوا ) اور ابومعاویہ نے ( اپنی روایت میں ) یوں بیان کیا ‘ کہ چھ سو سے سات سو تک۔
