Rapporté par Abu Huraira : Les gens disent qu'Abu Huraira rapporte trop de récits. En réalité, Allah sait si je dis la vérité ou non. Ils demandent aussi : « Pourquoi les émigrants et les Ansar ne rapportent-ils pas autant que lui ? » En fait, mes frères émigrants étaient occupés à faire du commerce au marché, et mes frères Ansar s’occupaient de leurs biens. J’étais un homme pauvre qui restait en compagnie du Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) et je me contentais de ce qui me suffisait pour manger. Donc, j’étais présent quand ils (les émigrants et les Ansar) étaient absents, et je retenais ce qu’ils oubliaient (des hadiths). Un jour, le Prophète (ﷺ) a dit : « Celui qui étend son vêtement jusqu’à ce que j’aie fini ce que j’ai à dire, puis le ramasse contre sa poitrine, n’oubliera jamais rien de mes paroles. » J’ai donc étendu mon vêtement, qui était mon seul habit, jusqu’à ce que le Prophète (ﷺ) ait fini, puis je l’ai serré contre ma poitrine. Par Celui qui l’a envoyé avec la vérité, depuis ce jour-là, je n’ai oublié aucun mot de ce qu’il a dit, jusqu’à aujourd’hui. Par Allah, si ce n’était à cause de deux versets du Livre d’Allah, je n’aurais jamais rapporté aucun récit (du Prophète). (Ces deux versets sont) : « En vérité, ceux qui cachent les preuves claires et la bonne direction que Nous avons révélées… » (jusqu’à) « le Miséricordieux »

حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ يَقُولُونَ إِنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يُكْثِرُ الْحَدِيثَ. وَاللَّهُ الْمَوْعِدُ، وَيَقُولُونَ مَا لِلْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالأَنْصَارِ لاَ يُحَدِّثُونَ مِثْلَ أَحَادِيثِهِ وَإِنَّ إِخْوَتِي مِنَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ كَانَ يَشْغَلُهُمُ الصَّفْقُ بِالأَسْوَاقِ، وَإِنَّ إِخْوَتِي مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ كَانَ يَشْغَلُهُمْ عَمَلُ أَمْوَالِهِمْ، وَكُنْتُ امْرَأً مِسْكِينًا أَلْزَمُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَلَى مِلْءِ بَطْنِي، فَأَحْضُرُ حِينَ يَغِيبُونَ وَأَعِي حِينَ يَنْسَوْنَ، وَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَوْمًا " لَنْ يَبْسُطَ أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ ثَوْبَهُ حَتَّى أَقْضِيَ مَقَالَتِي هَذِهِ، ثُمَّ يَجْمَعَهُ إِلَى صَدْرِهِ، فَيَنْسَى مِنْ مَقَالَتِي شَيْئًا أَبَدًا ". فَبَسَطْتُ نَمِرَةً لَيْسَ عَلَىَّ ثَوْبٌ غَيْرَهَا، حَتَّى قَضَى النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم مَقَالَتَهُ، ثُمَّ جَمَعْتُهَا إِلَى صَدْرِي، فَوَالَّذِي بَعَثَهُ بِالْحَقِّ مَا نَسِيتُ مِنْ مَقَالَتِهِ تِلْكَ إِلَى يَوْمِي هَذَا، وَاللَّهِ لَوْلاَ آيَتَانِ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ مَا حَدَّثْتُكُمْ شَيْئًا أَبَدًا {إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَكْتُمُونَ مَا أَنْزَلْنَا مِنَ الْبَيِّنَاتِ} إِلَى قَوْلِهِ {الرَّحِيمُ}
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Abu Huraira:The people say that Abu Huraira narrates too many narrations. In fact Allah knows whether I say the truth or not. They also ask, "Why do the emigrants and the Ansar not narrate as he does?" In fact, my emigrant brethren were busy trading in the markets, and my Ansar brethren were busy with their properties. I was a poor man keeping the company of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and was satisfied with what filled my stomach. So, I used to be present while they (i.e. the emigrants and the Ansar) were absent, and I used to remember while they forgot (the Hadith). One day the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Whoever spreads his sheet till I finish this statement of mine and then gathers it on his chest, will never forget anything of my statement." So, I spread my covering sheet which was the only garment I had, till the Prophet (ﷺ) finished his statement and then I gathered it over my chest. By Him Who had sent him (i.e. Allah's Apostle) with the truth, since then I did not forget even a single word of that statement of his, until this day of mine. By Allah, but for two verses in Allah's Book, I would never have related any narration (from the Prophet). (These two verses are): "Verily! Those who conceal the clear signs and the guidance which we have sent down .....(up to) the Merciful

ہم سے موسیٰ بن اسماعیل نے بیان کیا کہا کہ ہم سے ابراہیم بن سعد نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابن شہاب نے، ان سے اعرج نے اور ان سے ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے، آپ نے فرمایا کہ لوگ کہتے ہیں ابوہریرہ بہت حدیث بیان کرتے ہیں۔ حالانکہ مجھے بھی اللہ سے ملنا ہے ( میں غلط بیانی کیسے کر سکتا ہوں ) یہ لوگ یہ بھی کہتے ہیں کہ مہاجرین اور انصار آخر اس کی طرح کیوں احادیث بیان نہیں کرتے؟ بات یہ ہے کہ میرے بھائی مہاجرین بازاروں میں خرید و فروخت میں مشغول رہا کرتے اور میرے بھائی انصار کو ان کی جائیداد ( کھیت اور باغات وغیرہ ) مشغول رکھا کرتی تھی۔ صرف میں ایک مسکین آدمی تھا۔ پیٹ بھر لینے کے بعد میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت ہی میں برابر حاضر رہا کرتا۔ جب یہ سب حضرات غیر حاضر رہتے تو میں حاضر ہوتا۔ اس لیے جن احادیث کو یہ یاد نہیں کر سکتے تھے، میں انہیں یاد رکھتا تھا، اور ایک دن نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا تھا کہ تم میں سے جو شخص بھی اپنے کپڑے کو میری اس تقریر کے ختم ہونے تک پھیلائے رکھے پھر ( تقریر ختم ہونے پر ) اسے اپنے سینے سے لگا لے تو وہ میری احادیث کو کبھی نہیں بھولے گا۔ میں نے اپنی کملی کو پھیلا دیا۔ جس کے سوا میرا بدن پر اور کوئی کپڑا نہیں تھا۔ جب نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اپنی تقریر ختم فرمائی تو میں نے وہ چادر اپنے سینے سے لگا لی۔ اس ذات کی قسم جس نے آپ کو حق کے ساتھ نبی بنا کر مبعوث کیا، پھر آج تک میں آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے اسی ارشاد کی وجہ سے ( آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی کوئی حدیث نہیں بھولا ) اللہ گواہ ہے کہ اگر قرآن کی دو آیتیں نہ ہوتیں تو میں تم سے کوئی حدیث کبھی بیان نہ کرتا آیت «إن الذين يكتمون ما أنزلنا من البينات» سے اللہ تعالیٰ کے ارشاد «الرحيم» تک۔ ( جس میں ) اس دین کے چھپانے والے پر، جسے اللہ تعالیٰ نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ذریعہ دنیا میں بھیجا ہے، سخت لعنت کی گئی ہے۔
