كتاب الصوم
Rapporté par Mujahid d'après `Abdullah bin `Amr : Le Prophète (ﷺ) a dit (à `Abdullah) : « Jeûne trois jours par mois. » `Abdullah a dit (au Prophète) : « Je peux jeûner plus que cela. » Ils ont continué à discuter de ce sujet jusqu'à ce que le Prophète (ﷺ) dise : « Jeûne un jour sur deux, et récite tout le Coran une fois par mois. » `Abdullah a dit : « Je peux réciter plus (en un mois), » et la discussion a continué jusqu'à ce que le Prophète (ﷺ) dise : « Récite le Coran une fois tous les trois jours. » (c'est-à-dire, tu ne dois pas réciter tout le Coran en moins de trois jours)

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُجَاهِدًا، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " صُمْ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ ثَلاَثَةَ أَيَّامٍ ". قَالَ أُطِيقُ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ. فَمَا زَالَ حَتَّى قَالَ " صُمْ يَوْمًا وَأَفْطِرْ يَوْمًا " فَقَالَ " اقْرَإِ الْقُرْآنَ فِي شَهْرٍ ". قَالَ إِنِّي أُطِيقُ أَكْثَرَ. فَمَا زَالَ حَتَّى قَالَ فِي ثَلاَثٍ.
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Mujahid from `Abdullah bin `Amr:The Prophet (ﷺ) said (to `Abdullah), "Fast three days a month." `Abdullah said, (to the Prophet) "I am able to fast more than that." They kept on arguing on this matter till the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Fast on alternate days, and recite the whole Qur'an once a month." `Abdullah said, "I can recite more (in a month)," and the argument went on till the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Recite the Qur'an once each three days." (i.e. you must not recite the whole Qur'an in less than three days)

ہم سے محمد بن بشار نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے غندر نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے شعبہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے مغیرہ نے بیان کیا کہ میں نے مجاہد سے سنا اور انہوں نے عبداللہ بن عمرو رضی اللہ عنہما سے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا، مہینہ میں صرف تین دن کے روزے رکھا کر۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ مجھ میں اس سے بھی زیادہ کی طاقت ہے۔ اسی طرح وہ برابر کہتے رہے ( کہ مجھ میں اس سے بھی زیادہ کی طاقت ہے ) یہاں تک کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا، ایک دن روزہ رکھو اور ایک دن کا روزہ چھوڑ دیا کر۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان سے یہ بھی فرمایا کہ مہینہ میں ایک قرآن مجید ختم کیا کر۔ انہوں نے اس پر بھی کہا کہ میں اس سے زیادہ کی طاقت رکھتا ہوں۔ اور برابر یہی کہتے رہے۔ یہاں تک کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ تین دن میں ( ایک قرآن ختم کیا کر ) ۔
