كتاب العلم
Rapporté par Abu Musa : Le Prophète (ﷺ) a dit : « L’exemple de la guidance et du savoir qu’Allah m’a envoyés est comme une pluie abondante tombant sur la terre : une partie du sol est fertile, absorbe l’eau et fait pousser beaucoup de végétation et d’herbe ; une autre partie est dure et retient l’eau, et Allah en fait profiter les gens qui l’utilisent pour boire, abreuver leurs animaux et irriguer leurs champs ; une autre partie est stérile, elle ne retient pas l’eau et ne fait rien pousser (cette terre n’apporte donc aucun bénéfice). Le premier exemple est celui de la personne qui comprend la religion d’Allah et profite du savoir qu’Allah a révélé par moi (le Prophète), l’apprend puis l’enseigne aux autres. Le dernier exemple est celui de la personne qui ne s’en soucie pas et ne prend pas en compte la guidance d’Allah révélée par moi (il est comme cette terre stérile). »

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلاَءِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ بُرَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " مَثَلُ مَا بَعَثَنِي اللَّهُ بِهِ مِنَ الْهُدَى وَالْعِلْمِ كَمَثَلِ الْغَيْثِ الْكَثِيرِ أَصَابَ أَرْضًا، فَكَانَ مِنْهَا نَقِيَّةٌ قَبِلَتِ الْمَاءَ، فَأَنْبَتَتِ الْكَلأَ وَالْعُشْبَ الْكَثِيرَ، وَكَانَتْ مِنْهَا أَجَادِبُ أَمْسَكَتِ الْمَاءَ، فَنَفَعَ اللَّهُ بِهَا النَّاسَ، فَشَرِبُوا وَسَقَوْا وَزَرَعُوا، وَأَصَابَتْ مِنْهَا طَائِفَةً أُخْرَى، إِنَّمَا هِيَ قِيعَانٌ لاَ تُمْسِكُ مَاءً، وَلاَ تُنْبِتُ كَلأً، فَذَلِكَ مَثَلُ مَنْ فَقِهَ فِي دِينِ اللَّهِ وَنَفَعَهُ مَا بَعَثَنِي اللَّهُ بِهِ، فَعَلِمَ وَعَلَّمَ، وَمَثَلُ مَنْ لَمْ يَرْفَعْ بِذَلِكَ رَأْسًا، وَلَمْ يَقْبَلْ هُدَى اللَّهِ الَّذِي أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِ ". قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ وَكَانَ مِنْهَا طَائِفَةٌ قَيَّلَتِ الْمَاءَ. قَاعٌ يَعْلُوهُ الْمَاءُ، وَالصَّفْصَفُ الْمُسْتَوِي مِنَ الأَرْضِ.
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Abu Musa:The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The example of guidance and knowledge with which Allah has sent me is like abundant rain falling on the earth, some of which was fertile soil that absorbed rain water and brought forth vegetation and grass in abundance. (And) another portion of it was hard and held the rain water and Allah benefited the people with it and they utilized it for drinking, making their animals drink from it and for irrigation of the land for cultivation. (And) a portion of it was barren which could neither hold the water nor bring forth vegetation (then that land gave no benefits). The first is the example of the person who comprehends Allah's religion and gets benefit (from the knowledge) which Allah has revealed through me (the Prophet) and learns and then teaches others. The last example is that of a person who does not care for it and does not take Allah's guidance revealed through me (He is like that barren land)

ہم سے محمد بن علاء نے بیان کیا، ان سے حماد بن اسامہ نے برید بن عبداللہ کے واسطے سے نقل کیا، وہ ابی بردہ سے روایت کرتے ہیں، وہ ابوموسیٰ سے اور وہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے مجھے جس علم و ہدایت کے ساتھ بھیجا ہے اس کی مثال زبردست بارش کی سی ہے جو زمین پر ( خوب ) برسے۔ بعض زمین جو صاف ہوتی ہے وہ پانی کو پی لیتی ہے اور بہت بہت سبزہ اور گھاس اگاتی ہے اور بعض زمین جو سخت ہوتی ہے وہ پانی کو روک لیتی ہے اس سے اللہ تعالیٰ لوگوں کو فائدہ پہنچاتا ہے۔ وہ اس سے سیراب ہوتے ہیں اور سیراب کرتے ہیں۔ اور کچھ زمین کے بعض خطوں پر پانی پڑتا ہے جو بالکل چٹیل میدان ہوتے ہیں۔ نہ پانی روکتے ہیں اور نہ ہی سبزہ اگاتے ہیں۔ تو یہ اس شخص کی مثال ہے جو دین میں سمجھ پیدا کرے اور نفع دے، اس کو وہ چیز جس کے ساتھ میں مبعوث کیا گیا ہوں۔ اس نے علم دین سیکھا اور سکھایا اور اس شخص کی مثال جس نے سر نہیں اٹھایا ( یعنی توجہ نہیں کی ) اور جو ہدایت دے کر میں بھیجا گیا ہوں اسے قبول نہیں کیا۔ امام بخاری رحمہ اللہ فرماتے ہیں کہ ابن اسحاق نے ابواسامہ کی روایت سے «قبلت الماء» کا لفظ نقل کیا ہے۔ قاعاس خطہٰ زمین کو کہتے ہیں جس پر پانی چڑھ جائے ( مگر ٹھہرے نہیں ) اور «صفصف» اس زمین کو کہتے ہیں جو بالکل ہموار ہو۔
