كتاب العلم
Rapporté par Ash-Shu`bi : Abu Juhaifa a dit : « J’ai demandé à `Ali : ‘As-tu un livre révélé au Prophète (ﷺ) en dehors du Coran ?’ `Ali a répondu : ‘Non, à part le Livre d’Allah, ou la compréhension qu’Allah accorde à un musulman, ou ce qui est écrit sur ce feuillet que j’ai.’ Abu Juhaifa a demandé : ‘Qu’est-ce qui est écrit sur ce feuillet ?’ `Ali a répondu : Il s’agit de la Diyya (compensation versée par le tueur à la famille de la victime), de la rançon pour libérer les captifs des mains des ennemis, et de la règle selon laquelle aucun musulman ne doit être tué en représailles pour avoir tué un non-musulman. »

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلاَمٍ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ، قَالَ قُلْتُ لِعَلِيٍّ هَلْ عِنْدَكُمْ كِتَابٌ قَالَ لاَ، إِلاَّ كِتَابُ اللَّهِ، أَوْ فَهْمٌ أُعْطِيَهُ رَجُلٌ مُسْلِمٌ، أَوْ مَا فِي هَذِهِ الصَّحِيفَةِ. قَالَ قُلْتُ فَمَا فِي هَذِهِ الصَّحِيفَةِ قَالَ الْعَقْلُ، وَفَكَاكُ الأَسِيرِ، وَلاَ يُقْتَلُ مُسْلِمٌ بِكَافِرٍ.
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Ash-Shu`bi:Abu Juhaifa said, "I asked `Ali, 'Have you got any book (which has been revealed to the Prophet (ﷺ) apart from the Qur'an)?' `Ali replied, 'No, except Allah's Book or the power of understanding which has been bestowed (by Allah) upon a Muslim or what is (written) in this sheet of paper (with me).' Abu Juhaifa said, "I asked, 'What is (written) in this sheet of paper?' `Ali replied, it deals with The Diyya (compensation (blood money) paid by the killer to the relatives of the victim), the ransom for the releasing of the captives from the hands of the enemies, and the law that no Muslim should be killed in Qisas (equality in punishment) for the killing of (a disbeliever)

ہم سے محمد بن سلام نے بیان کیا، انہیں وکیع نے سفیان سے خبر دی، انہوں نے مطرف سے سنا، انہوں نے شعبی رحمہ اللہ سے، انہوں نے ابوحجیفہ سے، وہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے علی رضی اللہ عنہ سے پوچھا کہ کیا آپ کے پاس کوئی ( اور بھی ) کتاب ہے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا کہ نہیں، مگر اللہ کی کتاب قرآن ہے یا پھر فہم ہے جو وہ ایک مسلمان کو عطا کرتا ہے۔ یا پھر جو کچھ اس صحیفے میں ہے۔ میں نے پوچھا، اس صحیفے میں کیا ہے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا، دیت اور قیدیوں کی رہائی کا بیان ہے اور یہ حکم کہ مسلمان، کافر کے بدلے قتل نہ کیا جائے۔
