Rapporté par ‘Aisha : (l’épouse du Prophète) Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) m’a dit : « Sais-tu que lorsque ton peuple (les Quraysh) a reconstruit la Ka‘ba, ils l’ont réduite par rapport à ses fondations d’origine posées par Abraham ? » J’ai dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ! Pourquoi ne la reconstruis-tu pas sur ses fondations d’Abraham ? » Il a répondu : « Si ton peuple n’était pas encore proche de la période d’ignorance (c’est-à-dire qu’ils viennent juste d’embrasser l’islam), je l’aurais fait. » Le sous-narrateur, ‘Abdullah (ibn ‘Umar), a précisé : ‘Aisha a dû entendre cela du Messager d’Allah (ﷺ), car selon moi, le Prophète (ﷺ) n’a pas posé sa main sur les deux coins de la Ka‘ba en face d’Al-Hijr uniquement parce que la Ka‘ba n’avait pas été reconstruite sur les fondations d’Abraham

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، أَخْبَرَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنهم ـ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ لَهَا " أَلَمْ تَرَىْ أَنَّ قَوْمَكِ لَمَّا بَنَوُا الْكَعْبَةَ اقْتَصَرُوا عَنْ قَوَاعِدِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ". فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَلاَ تَرُدُّهَا عَلَى قَوَاعِدِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ. قَالَ " لَوْلاَ حِدْثَانُ قَوْمِكِ بِالْكُفْرِ لَفَعَلْتُ ". فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ لَئِنْ كَانَتْ عَائِشَةُ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ سَمِعَتْ هَذَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مَا أُرَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم تَرَكَ اسْتِلاَمَ الرُّكْنَيْنِ اللَّذَيْنِ يَلِيَانِ الْحِجْرَ، إِلاَّ أَنَّ الْبَيْتَ لَمْ يُتَمَّمْ عَلَى قَوَاعِدِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ.
Traduction anglaise
Narrated `Aisha:(the wife of the Prophet) that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said to her, "Do you know that when your people (Quraish) rebuilt the Ka`ba, they decreased it from its original foundation laid by Abraham?" I said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Why don't you rebuild it on its original foundation laid by Abraham?" He replied, "Were it not for the fact that your people are close to the Pre-Islamic Period of ignorance (i.e. they have recently become Muslims) I would have done so." The sub-narrator, `Abdullah (bin `Umar ) stated: `Aisha 'must have heard this from Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) for in my opinion Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) had not placed his hand over the two corners of the Ka`ba opposite Al-Hijr only because the Ka`ba was not rebuilt on its original foundations laid by Abraham

ہم سے عبداللہ بن مسلمہ قعنبی نے بیان کیا، ان سے امام مالک رحمہ اللہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابن شہاب نے بیان کیا، ان سے سالم بن عبداللہ نے کہ عبداللہ بن محمد بن ابی بکر نے انہیں خبر دی، انہیں عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے خبر دی اور انہیں نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی پاک بیوی عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان سے فرمایا کہ تجھے معلوم ہے جب تیری قوم نے کعبہ کی تعمیر کی تو بنیاد ابراہیم کو چھوڑ دیا تھا۔ میں نے عرض کیا یا رسول اللہ! پھر آپ بنیاد ابراہیم پر اس کو کیوں نہیں بنا دیتے؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ اگر تمہاری قوم کا زمانہ کفر سے بالکل نزدیک نہ ہوتا تو میں بیشک ایسا کر دیتا۔ عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہا کہ اگر عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے یہ بات رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنی ہے ( اور یقیناً عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سچی ہیں ) تو میں سمجھتا ہوں یہی وجہ تھی جو نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم حطیم سے متصل جو دیواروں کے کونے ہیں ان کو نہیں چومتے تھے۔ کیونکہ خانہ کعبہ ابراہیمی بنیادوں پر پورا نہ ہوا تھا۔
