Rapporté par Aisha : Quand la nouvelle du martyre de Zaid bin Haritha, Ja`far et `Abdullah bin Rawaha est arrivée, le Prophète s’est assis, l’air triste, et je regardais par la fente de la porte. Un homme est venu et a dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ! Les femmes de Ja`far… » puis il a parlé de leurs pleurs. Le Prophète (ﷺ) lui a ordonné de les empêcher de pleurer. L’homme y est allé puis est revenu et a dit : « J’ai essayé de les arrêter mais elles n’ont pas obéi. » Le Prophète (ﷺ) lui a ordonné une deuxième fois de les empêcher. Il y est retourné puis est revenu et a dit : « Elles ne m’ont pas écouté (ou “nous”, le narrateur Muhammad bin Haushab n’est pas sûr). » (`Aisha ajouta : Le Prophète (ﷺ) a dit : « Mets de la poussière dans leur bouche. » Je lui ai dit (à cet homme) : « Qu’Allah te couvre le nez de poussière (c’est-à-dire t’humilie). Par Allah, tu n’as pas réussi (à arrêter les femmes de pleurer) pour accomplir l’ordre, et tu n’as pas non plus soulagé le Messager d’Allah de sa fatigue. »

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَتْنِي عَمْرَةُ، قَالَتْ سَمِعْتُ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ تَقُولُ لَمَّا جَاءَ قَتْلُ زَيْدِ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ وَجَعْفَرٍ وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ رَوَاحَةَ، جَلَسَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُعْرَفُ فِيهِ الْحُزْنُ، وَأَنَا أَطَّلِعُ مِنْ شَقِّ الْبَابِ، فَأَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ نِسَاءَ جَعْفَرٍ وَذَكَرَ بُكَاءَهُنَّ فَأَمَرَهُ بِأَنْ يَنْهَاهُنَّ، فَذَهَبَ الرَّجُلُ ثُمَّ أَتَى فَقَالَ قَدْ نَهَيْتُهُنَّ، وَذَكَرَ أَنَّهُنَّ لَمْ يُطِعْنَهُ، فَأَمَرَهُ الثَّانِيَةَ أَنْ يَنْهَاهُنَّ، فَذَهَبَ، ثُمَّ أَتَى، فَقَالَ وَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ غَلَبْنَنِي أَوْ غَلَبْنَنَا الشَّكُّ مِنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ ـ فَزَعَمَتْ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " فَاحْثُ فِي أَفْوَاهِهِنَّ التُّرَابَ ". فَقُلْتُ أَرْغَمَ اللَّهُ أَنْفَكَ، فَوَاللَّهِ مَا أَنْتَ بِفَاعِلٍ وَمَا تَرَكْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مِنَ الْعَنَاءِ.
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Aisha:When the news of the martyrdom of Zaid bin Haritha, Ja`far and `Abdullah bin Rawaha came, the Prophet sat down looking sad, and I was looking through the chink of the door. A man came and said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! The women of Ja`far," and then he mentioned their crying . The Prophet (ﷺ) ordered him to stop them from crying. The man went and came back and said, "I tried to stop them but they disobeyed." The Prophet (ﷺ) ordered him for the second time to forbid them. He went again and came back and said, "They did not listen to me, (or "us": the sub-narrator Muhammad bin Haushab is in doubt as to which is right). " (`Aisha added: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Put dust in their mouths." I said (to that man), "May Allah stick your nose in the dust (i.e. humiliate you)." By Allah, you could not (stop the women from crying) to fulfill the order, besides you did not relieve Allah's Apostle from fatigue

ہم سے محمد بن عبداللہ بن حوشب نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا ہم سے عبوالوہاب ثقفی نے ‘ ان سے یحییٰ بن سعید انصاری نے، کہا کہ مجھے عمرہ بنت عبدالرحمٰن انصاری نے خبر دی، انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ میں نے عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے سنا، آپ نے فرمایا کہ جب زید بن حارثہ ‘ جعفر بن ابی طالب اور عبداللہ بن رواحہ رضی اللہ عنہم کی شہادت کی خبر آئی تو نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اس طرح بیٹھے کہ غم کے آثار آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے چہرے پر نمایاں تھے میں دروازے کے ایک سوراخ سے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو دیکھ رہی تھی۔ اتنے میں ایک صاحب آئے اور کہا کہ یا رسول اللہ! جعفر کے گھر کی عورتیں نوحہ اور ماتم کر رہی ہیں۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے روکنے کے لیے کہا۔ وہ صاحب گئے لیکن پھر واپس آ گئے اور کہا کہ وہ نہیں مانتیں۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے دوبارہ روکنے کے لیے بھیجا۔ وہ گئے اور پھر واپس چلے آئے۔ کہا کہ بخدا وہ تو مجھ پر غالب آ گئی ہیں یا یہ کہا کہ ہم پر غالب آ گئی ہیں۔ شک محمد بن حوشب کو تھا۔ ( عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے بیان کیا کہ ) میرا یقین یہ ہے کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ پھر ان کے منہ میں مٹی جھونک دے۔ اس پر میری زبان سے نکلا کہ اللہ تیری ناک خاک آلودہ کرے تو نہ تو وہ کام کر سکا جس کا نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے حکم دیا تھا اور نہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو تکلیف دینا چھوڑتا ہے۔
