Rapporté par Zainab bint Abi Salama : Quand la nouvelle de la mort d’Abu Sufyan est arrivée de Sham, Um Habiba, le troisième jour, a demandé un parfum jaune et s’en est mis sur les joues et les avant-bras, puis elle a dit : « Sans aucun doute, je n’en aurais pas eu besoin si je n’avais pas entendu le Prophète (ﷺ) dire : Il n’est pas permis à une femme qui croit en Allah et au Jour dernier de porter le deuil plus de trois jours pour une personne décédée, sauf pour son mari, pour qui elle doit porter le deuil pendant quatre mois et dix jours. »

حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ مُوسَى، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي حُمَيْدُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ زَيْنَبَ ابْنَةِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، قَالَتْ لَمَّا جَاءَ نَعْىُ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ مِنَ الشَّأْمِ دَعَتْ أُمُّ حَبِيبَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ بِصُفْرَةٍ فِي الْيَوْمِ الثَّالِثِ، فَمَسَحَتْ عَارِضَيْهَا وَذِرَاعَيْهَا وَقَالَتْ إِنِّي كُنْتُ عَنْ هَذَا لَغَنِيَّةً، لَوْلاَ أَنِّي سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ " لاَ يَحِلُّ لاِمْرَأَةٍ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ أَنْ تُحِدَّ عَلَى مَيِّتٍ فَوْقَ ثَلاَثٍ، إِلاَّ عَلَى زَوْجٍ، فَإِنَّهَا تُحِدُّ عَلَيْهِ أَرْبَعَةَ أَشْهُرٍ وَعَشْرًا ".
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Zainab bint Abi Salama:When the news of the death of Abu Sufyan reached from Sham, Um Habiba on the third day, asked for a yellow perfume and scented her cheeks and forearms and said, "No doubt, I would not have been in need of this, had I not heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying: "It is not legal for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to mourn for more than three days for any dead person except her husband, for whom she should mourn for four months and ten days

ہم سے عبداللہ بن زبیر حمیدی نے بیان کیا ‘ انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم سے سفیان ثوری نے بیان کیا ‘ انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم سے ایوب بن موسیٰ نے بیان کیا ‘ انہوں نے کہا کہ مجھے حمید بن نافع نے زینب بنت ابی سلمہ سے خبر دی کہ ابوسفیان رضی اللہ عنہ کی وفات کی خبر جب شام سے آئی تو ام حبیبہ رضی اللہ عنہا ( ابوسفیان رضی اللہ عنہ کی صاحبزادی اور ام المؤمنین ) نے تیسرے دن ”صفرہ“ ( خوشبو ) منگوا کر اپنے دونوں رخساروں اور بازوؤں پر ملا اور فرمایا کہ اگر میں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے یہ نہ سنا ہوتا کہ کوئی بھی عورت جو اللہ اور آخرت کے دن پر ایمان رکھتی ہو اس کے لیے جائز نہیں ہے کہ وہ شوہر کے سوا کسی کا سوگ تین دن سے زیادہ منائے اور شوہر کا سوگ چار مہینے دس دن کرے۔ تو مجھے اس وقت اس خوشبو کے استعمال کی ضرورت نہیں تھی۔
