Rapporté par Ibn `Umar : Un jour, une personne a demandé au Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) à propos de la prière de nuit. L’Envoyé d’Allah (ﷺ) a répondu : « La prière de nuit se fait par deux rak`at à la fois, puis encore deux, et ainsi de suite. Si quelqu’un craint l’arrivée de l’aube (prière du Fajr), il doit prier une rak`a qui comptera comme witr pour toutes les rak`at précédentes. »

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَجُلاً، سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنْ صَلاَةِ اللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " صَلاَةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى، فَإِذَا خَشِيَ أَحَدُكُمُ الصُّبْحَ صَلَّى رَكْعَةً وَاحِدَةً، تُوتِرُ لَهُ مَا قَدْ صَلَّى ".
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Ibn `Umar: Once a person asked Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) about the night prayer. Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) replied, "The night prayer is offered as two Rak`at followed by two Rak`at and so on and if anyone is afraid of the approaching dawn (Fajr prayer) he should pray one Rak`ah and this will be a Witr for all the Rak`at which he has prayed before

ہم سے عبداللہ بن یوسف نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ ہمیں امام مالک رحمہ اللہ نے نافع اور عبداللہ ابن دینار سے خبر دی اور انہیں عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہ ایک شخص نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے رات میں نماز کے متعلق معلوم کیا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ رات کی نماز دو دو رکعت ہے پھر جب کوئی صبح ہو جانے سے ڈرے تو ایک رکعت پڑھ لے، وہ اس کی ساری نماز کو طاق بنا دے گی۔
