Hadith 422 — Livre 2: Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat)

Rapporté par Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri : « Nous avons fait la prière après la tombée de la nuit avec le Messager d’Allah ﷺ, et il n’est pas sorti avant que la moitié de la nuit soit passée. Il a ensuite dit : “Restez à vos places.” Nous sommes restés assis. Puis il a dit : “Les gens ont prié et sont allés se coucher, mais vous êtes encore en prière tant que vous attendez la prière. Si ce n’était pas pour la faiblesse de certains et la maladie d’autres, je retarderais cette prière jusqu’à la moitié de la nuit.” »

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ، حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي هِنْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، قَالَ صَلَّيْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم صَلاَةَ الْعَتَمَةِ فَلَمْ يَخْرُجْ حَتَّى مَضَى نَحْوٌ مِنْ شَطْرِ اللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ " خُذُوا مَقَاعِدَكُمْ " . فَأَخَذْنَا مَقَاعِدَنَا فَقَالَ " إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ صَلَّوْا وَأَخَذُوا مَضَاجِعَهُمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ لَنْ تَزَالُوا فِي صَلاَةٍ مَا انْتَظَرْتُمُ الصَّلاَةَ وَلَوْلاَ ضَعْفُ الضَّعِيفِ وَسَقَمُ السَّقِيمِ لأَخَّرْتُ هَذِهِ الصَّلاَةَ إِلَى شَطْرِ اللَّيْلِ " .
Traduction anglaise
Narrated AbuSa'id al-Khudri: We observed the prayer after nightfall with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and he did not come out till about half the night had passed. He then said: Take your places. We then took our places. Then he said: The people have prayed and gone to bed, but you are still engaged in prayer as long as you wait for the prayer. Were it not for the weakness of the weak and for the sickness of the sick. I would delay this prayer till half the night had gone

ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ عشاء پڑھنی چاہی تو آپ باہر نکلے ہی نہیں یہاں تک کہ آدھی رات گزر گئی ( اس کے بعد نکلے ) اور فرمایا: تم لوگ اپنی اپنی جگہ بیٹھے رہو، ہم لوگ اپنی اپنی جگہ بیٹھے رہے ، پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: لوگوں نے نماز پڑھ لی اور اپنی خواب گاہوں میں جا کر سو رہے، اور تم برابر نماز ہی میں رہے جب تک کہ تم نماز کا انتظار کرتے رہے، اگر مجھے کمزور کی کمزوری، اور بیمار کی بیماری کا خیال نہ ہوتا تو میں اس نماز کو آدھی رات تک مؤخر کرتا ۔
