كتاب الطهارة
Rapporté par Abdullah ibn Abbas رضي الله عنه : Un homme fut blessé du vivant du Messager d’Allah ﷺ. Il eut ensuite un rêve érotique, et on lui conseilla de se laver, ce qu’il fit. Il mourut alors. Quand cela fut rapporté au Messager d’Allah ﷺ, il dit : « Ils l’ont tué ; qu’Allah les tue ! N’est-ce pas que le remède à l’ignorance, c’est de poser des questions ? »

حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ الأَنْطَاكِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي الأَوْزَاعِيُّ، أَنَّهُ بَلَغَهُ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ أَصَابَ رَجُلاً جُرْحٌ فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ثُمَّ احْتَلَمَ فَأُمِرَ بِالاِغْتِسَالِ فَاغْتَسَلَ فَمَاتَ فَبَلَغَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ " قَتَلُوهُ قَتَلَهُمُ اللَّهُ أَلَمْ يَكُنْ شِفَاءُ الْعِيِّ السُّؤَالَ " .
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: A man was injured during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ); he then had a sexual dream, and he was advised to wash and he washed himself. Consequently he died. When this was reported to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) he said: They killed him; may Allah kill them! Is not inquiry the cure of ignorance?

عطاء بن ابی رباح سے روایت ہے کہ انہوں نے عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کو کہتے سنا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے زمانے میں ایک آدمی کو زخم لگا، پھر اسے احتلام ہو گیا، تو اسے غسل کرنے کا حکم دیا گیا، اس نے غسل کیا تو وہ مر گیا، یہ بات رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو معلوم ہوئی تو آپ نے فرمایا: ان لوگوں نے اسے مار ڈالا، اللہ انہیں مارے، کیا لاعلمی کا علاج مسئلہ پوچھ لینا نہیں تھا؟ ۔
