Rapporté par Hamnah, fille de Jahsh رضي الله عنها : Hamnah a dit : Mes règles étaient abondantes et très fortes. Je suis donc allée voir le Messager d’Allah ﷺ pour avoir une décision et je lui ai expliqué la situation. Je l’ai trouvé dans la maison de ma sœur, Zaynab, fille de Jahsh. J’ai dit : « Messager d’Allah, je suis une femme dont les règles sont abondantes et très fortes, qu’en penses-tu ? Cela m’empêche de prier et de jeûner. » Il a dit : « Je te conseille d’utiliser du coton, car il absorbe le sang. » Elle répondit : « C’est trop abondant pour cela. » Il dit : « Alors prends un tissu. » Elle répondit : « C’est trop abondant pour cela, car mon sang coule sans cesse. » Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ dit : « Je vais te donner deux solutions ; si tu en suis une, cela te suffira sans l’autre, mais tu sais mieux si tu es capable de suivre les deux. » Il ajouta : « C’est un coup du Diable, donc observe tes règles pendant six ou sept jours, Allah seul sait combien exactement ; puis lave-toi. Et quand tu vois que tu es purifiée et bien propre, prie pendant vingt-trois ou vingt-quatre jours et nuits et jeûne, cela te suffira, et fais cela chaque mois, comme les femmes qui ont leurs règles et sont purifiées à la fin de leurs règles. Mais si tu es assez forte pour retarder la prière du midi (Zuhr) et avancer celle de l’après-midi ('Asr), te laver, puis regrouper les deux prières ; retarder la prière du coucher du soleil (Maghrib) et avancer celle de la nuit ('Isha), te laver, puis regrouper les deux prières, fais-le ; et te laver à l’aube, fais-le ; et jeûne si tu en es capable. » Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a dit : « Des deux solutions, c’est celle-ci que je préfère. » Abu Dawud a dit : 'Amr b. Thabit a rapporté d’Ibn 'Aqil : Hamnah a dit : « Des deux solutions, c’est celle-ci que je préfère. » Dans cette version, ces mots ne sont pas cités comme une parole du Prophète ﷺ ; c’est une parole de Hamnah. Abu Dawud a dit : 'Amr b. Thabit était un Rafidi. Cela a été dit par Yahya b. Ma'in. Abu Dawud a dit : J’ai entendu Ahmad (b. Hanbal) dire : Je doute de la tradition transmise par Ibn 'Aqil

حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، وَغَيْرُهُ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ، عِمْرَانَ بْنِ طَلْحَةَ عَنْ أُمِّهِ، حَمْنَةَ بِنْتِ جَحْشٍ قَالَتْ كُنْتُ أُسْتَحَاضُ حَيْضَةً كَثِيرَةً شَدِيدَةً فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَسْتَفْتِيهِ وَأُخْبِرُهُ فَوَجَدْتُهُ فِي بَيْتِ أُخْتِي زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ جَحْشٍ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي امْرَأَةٌ أُسْتَحَاضُ حَيْضَةً كَثِيرَةً شَدِيدَةً فَمَا تَرَى فِيهَا قَدْ مَنَعَتْنِي الصَّلاَةَ وَالصَّوْمَ فَقَالَ " أَنْعَتُ لَكِ الْكُرْسُفَ فَإِنَّهُ يُذْهِبُ الدَّمَ " . قَالَتْ هُوَ أَكْثَرُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ . قَالَ " فَاتَّخِذِي ثَوْبًا " . فَقَالَتْ هُوَ أَكْثَرُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ إِنَّمَا أَثُجُّ ثَجًّا . قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " سَآمُرُكِ بِأَمْرَيْنِ أَيَّهُمَا فَعَلْتِ أَجْزَأَ عَنْكِ مِنَ الآخَرِ وَإِنْ قَوِيتِ عَلَيْهِمَا فَأَنْتِ أَعْلَمُ " . فَقَالَ لَهَا " إِنَّمَا هَذِهِ رَكْضَةٌ من رَكَضَاتِ الشَّيْطَانِ فَتَحَيَّضِي سِتَّةَ أَيَّامٍ أَوْ سَبْعَةَ أَيَّامٍ فِي عِلْمِ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ اغْتَسِلِي حَتَّى إِذَا رَأَيْتِ أَنَّكِ قَدْ طَهُرْتِ وَاسْتَنْقَأْتِ فَصَلِّي ثَلاَثًا وَعِشْرِينَ لَيْلَةً أَوْ أَرْبَعًا وَعِشْرِينَ لَيْلَةً وَأَيَّامَهَا وَصُومِي فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ يُجْزِئُكِ وَكَذَلِكَ فَافْعَلِي فِي كُلِّ شَهْرٍ كَمَا تَحِيضُ النِّسَاءُ وَكَمَا يَطْهُرْنَ مِيقَاتَ حَيْضِهِنَّ وَطُهْرِهِنَّ وَإِنْ قَوِيتِ عَلَى أَنْ تُؤَخِّرِي الظُّهْرَ وَتُعَجِّلِي الْعَصْرَ فَتَغْتَسِلِينَ وَتَجْمَعِينَ بَيْنَ الصَّلاَتَيْنِ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَتُؤَخِّرِينَ الْمَغْرِبَ وَتُعَجِّلِينَ الْعِشَاءَ ثُمَّ تَغْتَسِلِينَ وَتَجْمَعِينَ بَيْنَ الصَّلاَتَيْنِ فَافْعَلِي وَتَغْتَسِلِينَ مَعَ الْفَجْرِ فَافْعَلِي وَصُومِي إِنْ قَدَرْتِ عَلَى ذَلِكَ " . قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " وَهَذَا أَعْجَبُ الأَمْرَيْنِ إِلَىَّ " .1 قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَرَوَاهُ عَمْرُو بْنُ ثَابِتٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَقِيلٍ قَالَ فَقَالَتْ حَمْنَةُ فَقُلْتُ هَذَا أَعْجَبُ الأَمْرَيْنِ إِلَىَّ .2 لَمْ يَجْعَلْهُ مِنْ قَوْلِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم جَعَلَهُ كَلاَمَ حَمْنَةَ . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَعَمْرُو بْنُ ثَابِتٍ رَافِضِيٌّ رَجُلُ سَوْءٍ وَلَكِنَّهُ كَانَ صَدُوقًا فِي الْحَدِيثِ وَثَابِتُ بْنُ الْمِقْدَامِ رَجُلٌ ثِقَةٌ وَذَكَرَهُ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ مَعِينٍ . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ سَمِعْتُ أَحْمَدَ يَقُولُ حَدِيثُ ابْنِ عَقِيلٍ فِي نَفْسِي مِنْهُ شَىْءٌ .
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Hamnah daughter of Jahsh: Hamnah said my menstruation was great in quantity and severe. So I came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) for a decision and told him. I found him in the house of my sister, Zaynab, daughter of Jahsh. I said: Messenger of Allah, I am a woman who menstruates in great quantity and it is severe, so what do you think about it? It has prevented me from praying and fasting. He said: I suggest that you should use cotton, for it absorbs the blood. She replied: It is too copious for that. He said: Then take a cloth. She replied: It is too copious for that, for my blood keeps flowing. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: I shall give you two commands; whichever of them you follow, that will be sufficient for you without the other, but you know best whether you are strong enough to follow both of them. He added: This is a stroke of the Devil, so observe your menses for six or seven days, Allah alone knows which it should be; then wash. And when you see that you are purified and quite clean, pray during twenty-three or twenty-four days and nights and fast, for that will be enough for you, and do so every month, just as women menstruate and are purified at the time of their menstruation and their purification. But if you are strong enough to delay the noon (Zuhr) prayer and advance the afternoon ('Asr) prayer, to wash, and then combine the noon and the afternoon prayer; to delay the sunset prayer and advance the night prayer, to wash, and then combine the two prayers, do so: and to wash at dawn, do so: and fast if you are able to do so if possible. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Of the two commands this is more to my liking.1 Abu Dawud said: 'Amr b. Thabit narrated from Ibn 'Aqil: Hamnah said: Of the two commands this is the one which is more to my liking.2 In this version these words were not quoted as the statement of the Prophet (ﷺ); it gives it as a statement of Hamnah. Abu Dawud said: 'Amr b. Thabit was a Rafidi. This has been said by Yahya b. Ma'in. Abu Dawud said: I heard Ahmad (b. Hanbal) say: I am doubtful about the tradition transmitted by Ibn 'Aqil

حمنہ بنت حجش رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ مجھے استحاضہ کا خون کثرت سے آتا تھا، تو میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آپ سے مسئلہ پوچھنے، اور آپ کو اس کی خبر دینے آئی، میں نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو اپنی بہن زینب بنت حجش رضی اللہ عنہا کے گھر پایا، میں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! مجھے بہت زیادہ خون آتا ہے، اس سلسلے میں آپ کیا فرماتے ہیں؟ اس نے مجھے نماز اور روزے سے روک دیا ہے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: میں تمہیں ( شرمگاہ پر ) روئی رکھنے کا مشورہ دیتا ہوں، کیونکہ اس سے خون بند ہو جائے گا ، حمنہ نے کہا: وہ اس سے بھی زیادہ ہے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: لنگوٹ باندھ کر اس کے نیچے کپڑا رکھ لو ، انہوں نے کہا: وہ اس سے بھی زیادہ ہے، بہت تیزی سے نکلتا ہے، اس پر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: میں تمہیں دو باتوں کا حکم دیتا ہوں، ان دونوں میں سے جس کو بھی تم اختیار کر لو وہ تمہارے لیے کافی ہے، اور اگر تمہارے اندر دونوں پر عمل کرنے کی طاقت ہو تو تم اسے زیادہ جانتی ہو ، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان سے فرمایا: یہ تو شیطان کی لات ہے، لہٰذا تم ( ہر ماہ ) اپنے آپ کو چھ یا سات دن تک حائضہ سمجھو، پھر غسل کرو، اور جب تم اپنے آپ کو پاک و صاف سمجھ لو تو تیئس یا چوبیس روز نماز ادا کرو اور روزے رکھو، یہ تمہارے لیے کافی ہے، اور جس طرح عورتیں حیض و طہر کے اوقات میں کرتی ہیں اسی طرح ہر ماہ تم بھی کر لیا کرو، اور اگر تم ظہر کی نماز مؤخر کرنے اور عصر کی نماز جلدی پڑھنے پر قادر ہو تو غسل کر کے ظہر اور عصر کو جمع کر لو اور مغرب کو مؤخر کرو، اور عشاء میں جلدی کرو اور غسل کر کے دونوں نماز کو ایک ساتھ ادا کرو، اور ایک نماز فجر کے لیے غسل کر لیا کرو، تو اسی طرح کرو، اور روزہ رکھو، اگر تم اس پر قادر ہو ، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ان دونوں باتوں میں سے یہ دوسری بات مجھے زیادہ پسند ہے ۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: اسے عمرو بن ثابت نے ابن عقیل سے روایت کیا ہے، اس میں ہے کہ حمنہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا: یہ دوسری بات مجھے زیادہ پسند ہے، انہوں نے اسے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا قول نہیں بلکہ حمنہ رضی اللہ عنہ کا قول قرار دیا۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: عمرو بن ثابت رافضی برا آدمی ہے، لیکن حدیث میں صدوق ہے- اور ثابت بن مقدام ثقہ آدمی ہیں- ۱؎، اس کا ذکر انہوں نے یحییٰ بن معین کے واسطے سے کیا ہے۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: میں نے احمد بن حنبل کو کہتے سنا: ابن عقیل کی حدیث کے بارے میں میرے دل میں بے اطمینانی ہے ۲؎۔
