الصحيح الثاني عند الأمة، رتبه مسلم ترتيبًا فقهيًّا يجمع الطرق المختلفة في موضع واحد، وعرف بإتقان السند وذكاء التأصيل حتى قيل إنه أضبط من البخاري في الطرق.
منهجه في الاختيار
لم يُشترط اللقاء بقدر اشتراط ضبط الطرق المتصلة، وجمع الحديث بمسانيد أصحابه في باب واحد فيعرف رواية كل راوٍ.

المعنى: الطهارة نصف الإيمان، والحمد لله يملأ ميزان الحسنات.
إن الله جميل يحب الجمال
المعنى: الله كاملٌ في جماله، ومحبٌّ لأعباده إذا أتقنوا وجعلوا الأمر بهيةً.
