Jurisprudence & Its Principles
Abu Hanifa
Imam of Imams — 699–767 CE / Kufa
The first to codify jurisprudence in chapters, becoming the Imam of Imams. He adopted an organised method of analogy and public interest; the Hanafi school is today the widest spread in the world (Turkey, Pakistan, Central Asia, Egypt), and he was a merchant ascetic who refused the governments of his time.
