Mount Uhud
North of Madinah, Saudi Arabia

The most famous mountain in the memory of Muslims, for the Battle of Uhud fought at its foot. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Uhud is a mountain that loves us and we love it," and at its base lies the martyrs' cemetery where Hamza ibn Abdul-Muttalib and his companions are buried.
Story & history
The famous Battle of Uhud took place here in 3 AH when the Muslim ranks broke after the archers disobeyed the Prophet's order, and some seventy companions fell, including Hamza ibn Abdul-Muttalib; grief gripped Madinah until victory returned at the Battle of Hamra al-Asad. Seerah books documented the battle positions at its foot, making the mountain an essential stop for every visitor asking about the lessons of the battles.
