In the Quran
إِنَّآ أَنزَلۡنَٰهُ فِي لَيۡلَةِ ٱلۡقَدۡرِ وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا لَيۡلَةُ ٱلۡقَدۡرِ لَيۡلَةُ ٱلۡقَدۡرِ خَيۡرٞ مِّنۡ أَلۡفِ شَهۡرٖ تَنَزَّلُ ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَٱلرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذۡنِ رَبِّهِم مِّن كُلِّ أَمۡرٖ سَلَٰمٌ هِيَ حَتَّىٰ مَطۡلَعِ ٱلۡفَجۡرِNous l’avons révélé au cours de la Nuit des décrets divins. Mais qui pourrait t’indiquer ce qu’est la Nuit des décrets divins ? La Nuit des décrets divins est plus bénie que mille mois réunis. Porteurs de tous les arrêts divins, les anges et l’Esprit descendent sur ordre de leur Seigneur au cours de cette nuit. C’est une nuit remplie de paix et de bénédiction jusqu’à l’apparition de l’aube.
When to seek it
تَحَرَّوْا لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ فِي الْوِتْرِ مِنَ الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ مِنْ رَمَضَانَSeek Laylat al-Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten nights of Ramadan.
In expected Ramadan 1448, the last ten nights start with the night of the 21st (around the evening of Friday 26 February 2027) and the 27th night around 5 March 2027, subject to moon sighting.
The supplication the Prophet ﷺ taught
اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّيO God, You are Pardoning and love pardon, so pardon me.
Its signs
تَطْلُعُ الشَّمْسُ صَبِيحَةَ تِلْكَ اللَّيْلَةِ لَا شُعَاعَ لَهَاThe sun rises on the morning after it without rays.
How to spend it
- Night prayer, Quran and supplication.
- Retreat (itikaf) in the mosque for those able.
- Charity, kindness and keeping family ties.

Is Laylat al-Qadr always the 27th?
Its exact night is not fixed; the 27th is the most hoped for according to many scholars, but it is sought on all the odd nights of the last ten.
