Al-Bukhari
Commander of the Faithful in hadith — 810–870 CE / Bukhara
Author of the Authentic Compendium, the most reliable book after the Book of God, selecting from six hundred thousand hadiths only those authentic by combined trust, continuity and direct meeting. His narrator-criticism method founded the science of jarh and ta'dil, and his book became the second book of Muslims after the Qur'an.
