Zakat al-Fitr calculator

Short answerZakat al-Fitr is a sa‘ of staple food (about 2.5 to 3 kg) per family member, paid before the Eid al-Fitr prayer. Enter your family size and the price per kilo in your country to get the amount. Schools differ on paying its value in cash, so follow your national fatwa authority.

The default is giving staple food of the land (dates, wheat, barley, rice…). Hanafis allow its value in cash, others disagree; national fatwa houses publish an annual amount: use it if available.

It is paid before the Eid prayer and may be given a day or two early. This calculator is a helper, not a fatwa.
